Kiss of death: Bush calls Hillary "formidable"
In a recent interview, Dubya described Hillary Clinton as a "formidable" candidate for 2008. IMO this is the kiss of death to Clinton, because it shows that she is the opponent the Republicans want. They see her as the next Mondale.

1. How about as the next Humphry?
Though Humphry was a warmonger liberal. Hillary ain't so liberal.

2. What ELSE is he gonna say?
"We could beat that raving bitch blindfolded"?

"But...she's a WOMAN....."?

They'd say the same about ANY theoretical candidate at this point.

3. Which is why she is probably the candidate they will get.
I'm not a Hillary hater or anything, but it has been really obvious for quite some time now that they are dying for her to be our candidate. Their Clinton bloodlust just can't be quenched.

17. Ya know, I never thought of that.
Hillary bloodlust. That's really an interesting point. I don't know about you, but I had just about enough of the Republican jihad against the Clintons in the 1990s. That's probably why I try to be fair with her now even though I won't support her in the primary. The incessant hammering of the Clintons really gets on my last nerve.

22. It gets on my last nerve, too.
And no, I won't support her in the primary, either. But when I hear the republicans attacking her, like with the "plantation" thing, it's just my instinct to come to her defense. And I'm not even a huge Hillary fan. I'm just so sick of "jihad" against the Clinton's that you mentioned. It does kind of force me to look at her more fairly than I normally would have.

4. Yes. Reeks of something invented by a PR team.
Osama Bin Laden says "Don't Vote Bush."

Bush says "Hillary Clinton is a Formidable Opponent. "

Hey, and I don't know if you noticed, but Kerry "looks French"...

7. Notice the difference between how they talk about her and Kerry
Bush calls Hillary "formidable."

Meanwhile, various Repuke strategists mock John Kerry and say stuff like "we dream about another Kerry candidacy."

Horseballs. They're scared to death of him. I think their mockery of him today makes that abundantly clear.

8. She would make Mondale look like a big winner.
It would be like HillaryCare. She has no chance whatsoever. If her husband had not been president, she would be the ex-wife of a former governor.

9. Remember when they said they hoped the Dems would choose Dean?
When does any organization, much less a political campaign, show their cards like that, unless it's a clumsy bluff?

Now, LIEberman's PR people were saying that they heard from somebody (the Australian ambassador or somesuch) that Bush's people privately revealed that it was Lieberman they most feared. Dean and Clark they dismissed.

11. It's the other side of the coin they played with Dean --
"We'd love to run against Dean!" when they were terrified of the idea, with him being a wild card that they could get no handle on. They were trying to stampede us away from him and his astonishing grassroots strength, and damned if it didn't work.

Rule 1: Everything they say is a lie. You want the truth, pretend it's opposite day.

15. I don't care what THEY say
and I'm not pushing for HILLARY, but the pukes are TERRIFIED of her, why would they hate her so? Really, what's she ever done to anybody?

19. A multi-layered question. If they hate her it's because she is not
a proper stepford wife. If they are terrified of her it is a visceral reaction, much as their terror of gays. That doesn't mean that they are afraid of her running for president. They know she has so many vulnerabilities because of her past with Bill, because of her being a sitting senator and the vote record she's built up which they can attack, because they can paint her as a wacked-out liberal, while most dems see her as a DLC conservative.

I don't really get their problems with her, but I'd bet my boots that they'd want her to be the dem candidate.

I'd like to see Gore/Edwards, myself. THAT is a team I think they'd really fear.

16. That's not trustworthy either...
...assume everything they say is a lie. If you want the truth, do some research or at worst, ask someone else.

21. Oh, yeah, by all means, research and verify, but just as a good
starting point, believe nothing they say. If they ever inadvertantly speak the truth it is only because they have a deeper agenda behind it.

14. You people are Whack!
The candidates in the race took each other down, and the media made it a circus. There was all out warfare among the candidates. No one was above reproach or above their nasty little tactics. All the while the Pukes were setting up their machinery to deprive people from voting, having their votes count, and amplifying media and RNC created distortions. Here it goes again. Let's have that fight all over again. We'll let * frame our primaries and the choice of candidates.

Oh, did I say Welcome to DU?

23. Maybe George Bush was speaking French ("elle est formidable")
meaning "Hillary is wonderful".

George Bush does speak French, doesn't he? I know he speaks several foreign languages like English, American, Texican, and Canadian, in addition to his native Chimplish.
