his speech seems very natural, though at some places he seems a bit nervous...common man type appeal... doesn't sound like he is reading a speech...sounds like he is talking to me... not bad (hope this doesn't count as part of the Bush Speech official thread, I think it needs its own headline...

4. I like this. Kaine is taking it right to *, point by point, in a calm |
|
measured way. I am pleasantly surprised.

5. Don't know...I like the cadence of it...wasn't really focusing on his |
|
eyebrows...
I remember Pelosi giving it one year...that one was very stiff...
However, I WISH THESE DAMN PEOPLE WOULD SAY LIES!!! Is it impossible for them? I wish he could do the domestic part, and they got someone else to do the international part...

2. Nah. He seems too soft and mild mannered. He's putting |
|
me to sleep with his delivery.

7. I think he seems very reassuring, comfortable - and I had thought he |
|
was a terrible choice, originally. He sold me. Walk softly, but carry a big stick. He pointed out everythihng Chimpy has f*cked up - and said "Dems have a better way".

6. No, it's just too folksy. |
|
I think people will say "oh that's nice" not "yea we need to vote Democrat! !(&# the Republicans!!" He was trying to be too cute and comfortable with Republicans and didn't hammer home the point that Democrats are working for progress and Republicans are corrupt and incompetent.
It wasn't a disaster of a speech but not really impressive or helpful.

9. Where is the anger? Where's the accountability? Calm does not work for me |
|
I'm sorry but this was not what we needed tonight- or maybe not what I needed tonight. Perhaps I'm still seething because my party stood up and clapped for this monster which totally disgusted me. We needed someone to come on and kick some ass here- DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY - ASK HOW DARE THE PRESIDENT BREAK THE LAW AND SPY ON AMERICAN CITIZENS? Bush said it straight on that he believed he had the authority to spy on Americans! This is an outrage.
I need a cocktail.
