How Did the Media Cover Bush's State of the Union Address?
Don't go here

January 31, 2006 - 16:25

Need you even ask such an obvious outcome to a question...hell they have been analyzing the speech for two days already before he even has uttered a word! Polls will be out within hours if not an hour...they had better keep it up folks they are helping us to get the results we want for our agenda!!! Heeeheeehehee....

A lie will travel around the world before the truth is out of bed.

I would like to hear from the 8 who voted the media will be biased in favor of Bush. Probably Neal Gabler and some of his cousins. They should read how the SOTUs of Clintoon were covered and then explain themselves.

I had to switch from NBC. They started with "addressing a deeply divided congress" and pointed at the Dems standing ovation when he mentioned defeatin SS. They then stated how badly his numbers were--

I couldn't stand it. Let me know when Kaine is on.

Heard CNN say that a Dem Congressman already had their response done even before the speech started, saying Bush didn't say anything, and didn't apologize blah blah blah.

Kaine is the best they've got because he hasn't been in long enough to be "dirty." What a pathetic display last night...

By the way, did anyone see Hillary gasp when Bush mentioned that prior Presidential administrations had done the same as he did (re: wiretapping)??

She wanted to curl up and die...if only she had.

Fight Terrorism at home - defeat a liberal!

Is there a full moon or what?

1. On the ABC Coverage Before the Speech
they mentioned that the president was nearby in a holding room.

My teenage daughter said "It sounded like they were saying he's in a holding cell."

2. If only there was ...
a Full Moon, perhaps the FreepTards would become a bit more interesting. But it's just the same ol' blather and sputter and spittle and crap. I'm just wondering 'how in the H-E-double hockey sticks can THESE people be routinely kicking our collective butts on-air?' Oh, wait. I know. It's 'cause we have Souls, believe in independent thought and actually speak honestly. :applause:

7. Who was the Congressperson CNN was laughing about?
Greenfield, Crowley, and Wolf said that a Congressperson had issued a scathing letter about the speech calling it "Empty rhetoric". They then laughed and said that there was no way that this person had actually seen the speech.

Aside from the fact that the speech is usually released so that opinions can be released and the fact that the Republicans probably put out glowing praise....does anyone know who this "Congressperson" was?

10. It was just as W made his way to the front of the room
We was down in front of the Supreme Court justices and the military brass. It appeared to be the funniest thing they had ever heard of.

8. Not Pointing Out
It seems that they (the media) are not pointing the lies, misstatements, and/or contridictions that Bush's speech contained. They just seem to be restating what he said.

11. Post-SOTU MSNBC coverage was very negative --
Tucker Scarbourough and Buchanan were generally negative. Dem commentators mercilously so. Matthews negative.

13. I thought the coverage on Anderson Cooper
was very negative as well. I don't think anyone was terribly impressed.
