Another Huge Turnout for Dean in Seattle---over 2,500 people!
From the Road: Seattle, Washington

Today has been amazing! First we have over 2,000 people in Tucson and we just left a town hall in Seattle with close to 2,500 people! There were so many people that they were lined up for blocks around the building waiting to get in - many of them never did and instead waited in the pouring rain to see the Gov!

This is an overflow room which Dean later appeared at after the town hall meeting in Seattle.

2. I think they found all the people who will vote for him
And put them in the same room so they won't defect to Kerry. :D

5. Gee they must have done that here in Arizona as Dean had
3 THOUSAND 500 HUNDRED at his Tucson rally. And then off course about 200 here at HQ to walk for him.

3. He's definitely NOT finished in Washington state!
Didn't make the Seattle meeting, unfortunately :( (found out about it too late). But I'm definitely looking forward to the caucus one week from today, and Dean will win!

11. Quite right, Dean has plenty of supporters
in my neighborhood. I don't see almost any Kerry supporters, though.
Dean and Clark are the two candidates with a presence in Washington. Oh, and Kucinich has more supporters here than in most states, but not nearly what Dean and Clark have.

I hope Dean can take away some of Kerry's support in the Feb 3rd primaries, too!

thanks slink.
i was so angry that people equated not running ads with -what, taking his name off the ballot or something. like there are no people on the ground. like this is the kind of campaign that depends on slick tv ads. tuesday is going to be interesting.

give 'em hope howard.

20. There sure were 8000 at the Sleepless summer rally
which had massive advance publicity.

Todays event had 24-hours notice and was held in a 1200 capacity forum. Half of the people that showed up in the pouring rain couldn't get in.

I was a volunteer at the event today. Before the doors opened, one of my tasks was to stand at the door and politely explain to those who came to volunteer that we already had more than enough people inside to set up. It could be worse.

People were lined up around four blocks despite the fact that there was practically no advance pub about the appearance.

Oh, and by the way, Dean rocked the Townhall.

2,500 showed up, Dean's got no worries in Washington.

24. But still
Deans support has greatly fallen, and pretty much the same pollsters who predicted his early losses, have predicted that Dean's campaign is over. And this seems to be true everywhere. It has been indicated that in a few days Dean will only receive delegates in one state,if that. Zogby has stated that Dean may get a few delegates out of Arizona, but that pretty much will be it for February 3rd.

Govenror Dean's campaign is essentially over. It is fairly obvious that Dean will not be the nominee. Hanging in until the end in my opinion, will simply hamper the party and make it more difficult to defeat Bush come November. Polls are starting to indicate will happen if Kerry becomes the nominee.

2500 people in a state the size of Arizona, with nearly six million people, and Washington State with over six million is a bad sign for Dean, who was once able to attract 3500 people in a state like New Hampshire with around 1.25 million people.

You may disagree with my accessment, but I am within my rights to disagree that the showing that Dean has had recently in Arizona and Seattle, is not exceptional, given the past crowds he has gotten.

25. Nice show, Dean supporters
The GOV does turn out the supportive crowds. That level of enthusiasm is very good for the primary process. I hope that Gov Dean does well in WI, WA and MI. Good luck!

28. But who cares?
Because as you can plainly see in 99% of the threads here...IT'S OVER. And Kerry has won the coronation because he came in first in the first two primaries. Not just Dean, but ALL of the others should just quit. Face it Kerry is the best and the voters have said so.

SAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRCCCCCCCCCCCCAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSMMMMMMMMMMM now off.

How many delegates are in WA?

30. Ripley I guess you think that the first 300,000 to vote get to pick for
the majority of all Americans. Are you saying that we should forget the convention and the more than 90% of Americans who have not voted yet (indeed most are not even paying attention yet), and simply let Iowa and NH select the Democratic candidate, and leave everyone else out of it? Sheesh. By the way, since Dean actually has 10 more delegates then Kerry, maybe this ain't a bad idea!
