Clown to GOP: Nuking Iran is BAD for your health
Y'know how all them caring republican pundits so love to give us advice? Well, I have some for them. But unlike them, I actually think my advice is good advice ... for them.

We all know your king, Il Dunce, and his deep insiders have this erectile problem. They get all hard and all just thinking about nukes and guys in cammo and humvees and things that go 'kaboon'.

We all know you guys are in the politcal swamps these days.

Surely you've already done some covert poll testing of nuking Iran. One poll for all out nuking. One poll for those cute little tactical nukes that leave the 'ka' out of 'ka-boom'.

Well, I don't know what your polls have shown, but think about this.

There's no appetite for it anymore. Too many fathers with too many maimed kids. Too many moms and grammas who remember 'Nam. Too many returnees with PTSD walking the streets mumbling to themselves. Too many now mouring the loss of treasure your little Iraq adventure has so far cost.

There's no desire to change a 'q' to an 'n' and play the reruns.

Then there's the rest of the world. you know. The former members of the long-forgotten and long-out-of-your-speeches coalition of the bribed - even Poland - have no more stomach for it. Besides, the dollar's down. They'll take Euros, thanks. And we have none.

Oh ... and don't foget Putin. He wants your king's sorry ass on a platter. With the fava bean side.

Nuking Iran is spelled this way, fellas:

P-A-R-I-A-H

Its a losing proposition.

No matter what Cliff May tells ya.

I was tempted to post separately a "Parasite Post" after reading your piece....you know,a post obviously inspired by yours but on a different tangent...Instead let me state this here, clearly and succinctly-the use of ANY nuclear weapon by US forces is unacceptable-to the World and to US citizens...The history of the bomb is simple-the first true terror weapon...we used it twice in the worlds largest conflagration and hundreds of thousands died.It has never been used since....not in over 60 years....through all of Korea (and at times we were desperate there) all of the cold war when either side could have played, nor Vietnam, nor a half dozen other engagements....and to this day the morality of their first firings (Aug 6 and 9th,1945, I believe) has been debated. But a third firing by the same nation will NEVER be debated, even should the world survive...This needless nuclear attack will be condemned much more severely than the sacking of Rome, even if only because we claimed to be civilized.
The only time I was ever copied to Free Republic was when I replied to a post here that asked what we at DU would do if we were "invaded" by Muslims....My somewhat snarky reply was that I would greet them as liberators and throw flowers....Beleive me,heads exploded over there, and I was called stuff my Momma did not name me...Point being though, and perhaps a petition drive is due here,we should resolve that if our Deciderer and his minions should use this option,we should make it as clear as possible that our support will be towards turning them over at the earliest possible date to an international tribunal for judgment and punishment. There is no longer any "tactical" or "strategic"-there is merely "bigger than Hiroshima" and "much bigger than Hiroshima" The World will never accept that 3 times one nation unilaterally used this device, and neither should claim we that we accept that we were "forced" to use it

On edit:correction of phrasing....

3. catnhatnh, my hometown friend ...... you and I are on the very same page
I simply cannot concieve of a circumstance where nukes are appropriate. None.

And that is **particularly** true now. There is, essentially no world sentiment on our side. We are fast becoming what I said above .... an international pariah. Indeed, it is my view that the only reason we enjoy even the illusion of repsct is the size of our military and the size of our economy.

How different it was just a few short years ago, when Big Dawg was top dawg. We were, in fact, much beloved except by a very few religiously insane bigots.

4. You and I old Friend....
Have sat under desks while air raid warnings were played....It is sad that mere working guys like us remember what it was like to be a child and know the world could end....like not someday, not soon, but right now when THIS alarm was ringing....and now sadly,by the action of this country, that used to be ours, this may be truly the case for other children...That's what every thinking person MUST take from this-our direct actions are making children live in horror-and I do not forgive us....
