Another Monday. Why does it seem **only** John Conyers gets it? WHY????
http://www.conyersblog.us/

From his blog on his website: 'Its the voting stupid'.

I suspect there's no need to quote even one word more.

Where the ***fuck*** is everyone else on this? Conyers sees an issue and suggests the only solution in **his** power to support - a call for a formal DOJ investigation, complete with a special counsel.

With Conyers as a lone voice, we all know how far this will go. Which is exactly .... nowhere.

Where are the usual camp followers and hangers on? You know .... the Vichy Dems who blow in the wind. Where are the party stalwarts and leaders on this? Where are the congressional pitchforks and torches? Where are specific counterfraud plans?

Platitude after bullshit after platitude.

Doesn't anyone WANT to win in 06?

Or is everyone happy to just get close again ...... close enough to let them steal it one more time?

Does anyone besides John Conyers just .... plain ....... get it?

I'm sorry, but here we are in the middle of May and we have .... what?

I'll tell ya what.

We got NOTHING.

NOTHING AT ALL

What the fuck is up, people? Does anyone .... ANYONE .... actually WANT to win?

The Republicans appear to be helping us with their slow motion implosion. But that is NO guarantee. In fact, it gives them cover to cheat on an even wider scale. While we're looking *here*, they're cheating over **there**.

Fer krissakes they just did AGAIN in Ohio. Did no one get that memo? They fucking cheated JUST WEEKS AGO in Ohio.

Maybe someone with the chutzpah or the horsepower can assemble a 'Vote Squad' ..... you know ...... that mythical army of lawyers we all expected in the 04 cycle? I know, I know .... there's 'something like that but better' being cited on some party websites.

How about a plan to intimidate the intimidators? How about loud noises and shiny objects on teevee? How about some screaming from the rafters. How about SOMETHING to give us hope?

People, they're gunna steal it again. They're gunna do it. You know it. I know it.

John Conyers knows it.

Why do I feel like that falling tree in the empty forest?

Here's a little tip to elected officials everywhere: If you don't get the votes to be elected, or if you get them and they DON'T GET FUCKING COUNTED ... you're applying for unemployment. Yanno? If someone were trying to end my career - or stop it from starting, I'd be prety fucking diligent in COVERING MY OWN SORRY ASS even if I didn't give a shit about anyone else my job might affect (like my family ... or your constituents).

Jayzus H. Kerist on A Trailer Hitch ......... what the fuck does it take to GET SOMETHING GOING?

ARRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHH!

1. mythical army
of lawyers? Wasn't a myth at all. I personally know 4 people (out of my admittedly small group of friends) who gave up vacation time from their "real" jobs and went to Ohio to help out with the huge mess over there. 2 out of those 4 were there for over a month and one contined working right up until Christmas. And their involvement was the tip of the iceberg, in their words. A LOT of lawyers went to various areas to help out however they could. Nothing "mythical" about that.

I agree with your rant -- in fact, I SOOOOO agree with your rant -- , but please don't disparage those who gave of their personal talents and time in '04 to help stem the bleeding of our Democracy.

2. *Sigh* --- K&R
Conyers is an "it-getter", but just barely.
HAVA and the election-stealing machines have all got to be dumped.

3. Very true. Why don't we have a comprehensive stance on this? And ......
..... some comprehensive plans to deal with the problems if the whole HAVA/machine debacle isn't reversed yesterday?

I can't get this image out of my mind.

Or this one:

Or maybe this one:

10. LOL!
And the Dem leaders are all ears:

Thanks for posting that. Cracks me up every time. :D

Given what went on in Ohio and Illinois recently, I'd have to say that there's no comprehensive plan.
But it does look like these battles are going to be waged locally. Which state will lead the way? We'll see.

4. I would submit that Conyers' has a STAFF That gets it while others do not.
Remember - alot of what the lawmakers hear comes from staff reading all the news articles and research papers that come across their desk.

I'd say that Conyers has someone on his staff who gets it and has the authority to craft Conyers website postings.

Most of this stuff stays on the website and hasn't been presented in a press conference held to expose the machines. THAT is the problem for all Dems.

5. Funny you mention that .......
(I love John Conyers .... just to head off a DU swarm)

The wording of articles on his website just never have the ring of an extemporaneous conversation with John Conyers. This isn't quite the same with other legislator's web sites. Their 'postings' there seem more in the style of the actual person.

That being said, just having it on his website would seem to imply endorsement of the msssage. I'll take that happily.

And yes, too, to the notion that just having stuff on a website isn't enough. I've been yammering about that for a while. Whenever one asks 'what's the plan' the usual swarm of the cultists links to websites with statements that are three menu levels down.

That isn't a plan. It is a political nocturnal emission.

6. HAHAHHA....you just nailed that one completely.
I'd like to see Conyers' staff march over to the senate and meet for a few hours with Kerry's staff.

7. Such a simple, beautiful idea. Let's email them both suggesting it.
Maybe even start a campaign.

11. I've stopped sending money to anyone not addressing this issue.
It has to be #1. All other energy is wasted. #2 in the corrupt media, but that's a different story.
But now when I get tons of requests for donations, I say until you treat this problem as a #1 problem, I will not donate one more penny.
I did give some to the democrat Deborah Bowing (for SOS of California) to help her beat the appointed McPherson (like that whole thing wasn't totally obvious-Ca will be the next Fla, Ohio just watch).
I'm with you-I don't get why people don't seem to care, and now I think they are part of the problem.
Don't have the answer though. Sorry.
