Fan and foe may greet Bush during Beach visit (for Drake R-VA02)
*****If the below link prompts a registration page, just scroll down and click "ask me later". I really hope this link works as there's a photo of the MANSION he and Thelma will be canoodling at for $5,000/plate. No special interest here :eyes: Also, there's a poll on this page, which needs some DU LOVE.*****

Thanks guys :hi:

VIRGINIA BEACH — When President Bush arrives in Virginia Beach on Friday, he likely will see dozens of welcoming supporters with banners and signs at Bayville Farms Park.

He also probably will see protesters.

Competing demonstrations are planned for the president’s visit. Both are scheduled for Bayville Farms Park, which Bush probably will pass on his way to the nearby home of developer Bob Stanton.

Stanton is hosting an invitation-only, $5,000-per-person fundraising luncheon for U.S. Rep. Thelma Drake, R-2nd District. His home is across the street from the park, within the Bayville Golf Club.

8. OH, thank YOU B'sister :)))
This will be one of the few House races that should be of national interest, both Bush and Cheney coming here within a couple of months to Thelma's district to fill her war chest? Is this on the schedule for all 435 districts in the U.S. ??? A Bush/Cheney visit for every Republican House race ???

5. Hey, Catchawave, I'm in VB, too!
Are you going? I've got small children, so I won't be able to protest, but would love to hear the stories of people who do.

Yeah, the Nos are losing. Let's get more DUers to change this poll!

9. Hey beachmom !
I'm going to crosspost this thread into the Virginia forum. I know there's a few South Hampton Roads peeps who post there :hi:

You realize we have the Webb-Miller debate in Norfolk tommorrow a.m. at the WVEC studio, and the Bayville Farms thing.

Sadly, I can't attend neither either <---sounds like a line in AIRPLANE! ...me so bad...

Hubster's in a golf tournament, I have "special son" and "senior dog" duty all day. Don't feel bad, many more opportunities coming up. Glad the Pilot's on this, they gave more press to the Cheney protestors than Cheney's visit :loveya:

17. BREAKING !!! Thelma didn't show up.....
something about an important vote in the HOUSE today

Live coverage of Bush's arrival at ORF, George Allen got off the plane with him.

Protestors at Bayville park evenly divided in #'s, but they're chosing to cover the anti-Bush side of the entrance. They're selling baloney sandwiches for a nickel to protest the 5,000 per plate luncheon for Bush
