So my wife has a theory about Chris Matthews
Edited on Thu Jun-01-06 08:00 PM by EarlG
He's in love with Hillary Clinton.

Think about it... tonight on Hardball he rehashed the week-old NYT story about the Clintons' marriage AGAIN. It's like he's obsessed with Hillary, and he won't let go of this story because he thinks that Bill might be out of the picture soon and then he'll be in with a chance.

My wife said that watching Chris Matthews talk about Bill and Hillary Clinton is like watching David Letterman when he used to talk about Connie Chung and Maury Povich.

Chris Matthews is madly in love with Hillary Clinton and he doesn't want to admit it!

Do you think he goes through her garbage? Look, I found a picture of his bedroom door:

6. But they are afraid to admit it. I would think that would be a reason
for you to lose your membership to "the party".

That explains why so many of them hate Bill!

46. My thoughts exactly!
Being in love with Hilary would almost be within the realm of normalcy. Tweets is such a bizarre, twisted, repressed, unfulfilled collection of pathological personality disorders that the explanation for his obsession with HRC is not explained away so simply.

20. I think he is being compensated somehow to target her (IMHO)
I am sorry, what he is dong is unhealthy. A friend watches the show for me. If she thinks I need to see him, she calls. Tonight she called. In spite of the best efforts of Ed Rollins and the young Democratic consultant ( I missed her name because I was stunned by Tweety's tenacity in attacking the Clinton's) and his trying so hard to make a hit piece in the NYT justification for his bleating. And when his guests tried to make a point, he would have no part of it.

He is a menace, he is dangerous, and in some parts of the country, we call what he is doing stalking.

The Scoreboard: Wednesday, May 31

MSNBC Hardball: 5PM: 25-54 demographic: 82,000 households.

http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/

150000 people attended CES in January
HP has 150000 employees worldwide
There are over 15000 Real Estate Agents in the US

Nearly 5,000,000 households each night tune into SpongeBob.

Tweety is a moot point.

38. I'd say the same thing about his obsession with bringing up Giuliani
He usually wants to bring up HIS name and how he's going to be the GOP presidential nominee for '08. I can't tell you how many times he's tried to change the subject to Rudi.

Maybe he's just taken with anyone from NY who has made it to a high-profile leadership position. Or maybe he's just the male version of an airheaded blonde...

I joked to my husband the other day near the start of Tweety's show: let's see how long before he mentions Hillary.

Seven minutes into the show. That's all it took.

It seems a shame, because from what I've seen he's already got a terrificly smart, funny and beautiful wife.

30. Is this the second or third night he's obsessed on this idiotic non-story?
Its embarrassing. My first thought was that he was unhinged with his hatred/fear of her, but your wife's theory really makes more sense. Why else would he react so virulently? He seemed to be really captured by that sensationalist NYT article and unwilling to accept that it was merely trash more fitting to the Tattler or National Enquirer. What a gimp.

39. similar to my theory about Oxy-rush and the clintons
Edited on Fri Jun-02-06 03:48 AM by radfringe
Oxy-rush is obsessed with the Clintons.

my dad is a "dittohead", and when visiting my parents you can take it to the bank my dad has the radio tuned to him

Around 1995 - I had to drive with my Dad to Florida (from massachusetts) - and yeah the radio was tuned to oxy-rush for most of that 24hour ride.

I mentioned to my dad that rush seems awful obsessed with clinton(s) - i.e. everything is clinton's fault.

my dad went into a recital of all of the rush ditto-points.

then I said that rush should send a hugh donation to the Clinton re-election fund

dad: huh? why?

me: well, if clinton doesn't get re-elected then rush will have no one to talk about. he didn't hit the big-time until Clinton. Rush should be on his knees praising god for Clinton.

---

of course at that point in time - I wasn't even considering that Hillary would be running for Senator, and the watercooler talk of her running for President

oh well - it gives rush something to wail about for another few years

42. Is that what "Blonde on Blonde" means?
The trouble with "blonde on blonde" is...it leads to the creation of more blondes. And that's not good for anybody.

Besides, not to create any sexual scandals or imply anything, but...if Sen. Clinton and Tweety DID have children, what would they look and act like? Gives me the willies.
