Supply and Demand (illegal immigration)

I just want to pose this question; Who's really the supply sider in this debate?

1) Those that claim immigrants drive down wages?

2) Those that clamor for temp citizen status?

3) Those that claim they want full citizenship extended to illegals?

First off, I think it's absolutely ridiculous to apply the laws of supply and demand to low wage work. Supply doesnt effect what one will pay when they need life saving medical attention and drugs. The same goes for those that are in poverty and need work to sustain themselves. A paycheck in that situation works the same as medical goods and supplys. It's just comes down to need!!!!

That leads me to another point. Who are the liberals/Progressives in this debate? Those that clamor for border control and a mass exodus of immigrants? I think not.

We as liberals/Progresseives are where all the ideas and solutions come from. We are historicly the critics of capitalism and have a great history of saving people suffering under market forces.

A real Liberal/Progressive would seek to repair the those flaws in capitalism that leave people at the mercy of this co called "supply and Demand" element. We have always done that and stood firmly on the side of people in need!!!!

The very concept of supply and demand is predicated on choices. The solution of removing human beings from the equations and sending them somewhere where they are exploited is a supply side solution.
