I know I've been busy and not watching much TV, but I can't recall the last time I saw Laura. Is she still appearing in support of her (ahem) dearly beloved?

I would guess he has a pretty hot temper and there is much more take than give in that marriage. She has been pretty good about keeping their "proper" image intact in public, but I'll bet that when the doors are closed, she can hold her own in private.

People here like to call her a Stepford Wife, but I don't get that at all. She doesn't seem to be all that active, as First Ladies go, but she seems strong-willed.

6. Graduation Speech

I saw her give the Graduation Speech at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI a couple of weeks ago. To her credit, she did an excellent job. Dignified and articulate, as well as informative. As much as I dislike "W", I think she's an excellent First Lady.

the rest of the cabal. She likes to play the "dignified" first lady until they need to trot her out to deliver a few zingers at the liberals. She has as much dignify and intelligence as a potato shot full of booze, ciggies, Xanax and Botox. Pickles is like Babs - both are enablers to this failed, flunky frat boy. She is just another tool in this repug mess.

And informed? Does that mean delivering a speech that has been written for her and she delivers the lines okay? How about speaking extraneously? Every time she goes off script she is slamming a Dem - no brain cells required for that - just a mean, nasty spirit. If she hadn't married the drunk frat boy what exactly do you think she would have done with her life to make this country better?

I remember what the repugs did to Hillary from January 20, 1993 until January 20, 2001 and will never forget. Pickles is not fit to lick the soles of Hillary's shoes.

makes you every bit as hateful as the rightwingnut conservatives. Laura's NOTHING like Babs - a controlling, coniving old bitty. Laura did a good job delivering the speech, irrespective of who wrote it. She was dignified and I appreciated her being there. And in that regard, I give her good marks.

14. Goody for you. Give her all the high marks you want. I prefer to

call a spade a spade. Laura is EXACTLY like Babs - and that is the rub. Controlling and conniving is just a couple of the lesser adjectives that Pickles can claim as her own. Pickles marches out on orders of KKKarl, "politely" delivers her talking points, spews a little hate speak and then scurries back to the White House (or the Mayflower Hotel if you believe the rags). This so called "lady" has even managed to raise two narcissistic, self-serving kids (the nuts don't fall too far from the tree) who apparently, also, do not have an ounce of social responsibility or higher calling.

She is just another person in the generation of vacuous, empty repug women who look the other way while good ol hubby rapes and pillages a country. She is the Eva Braun of the 21st century.

She could have used her position to bring so many issues and programs to the forefront. Instead she pretends to give a damn while doing nothing. She is just window dressing for the non-thinking repugs who buy into the press releases and the reichwing media hacks. If she isn't part of the solution than she is part of the problem.

Remember how Laura was ordered to her room for several months early in the administration when she was quoted in the WP as saying that she probably would have voted Democratic had she not been married to W? She was confined to her room for months. At the same time, Christy T Whitmann was ordered under her desk for talking off message in favor of honoring international air pollution agreements and Powell was ordered under his for his statements supporting the continuation of the Clinton Admin's policy toward North Korea.

The White House folks play rough.
