More great polls for PA governor and PA senate
PA Governor: Rendell (D) 50%, Swann (R) 36%
PA Senate: Casey (D) 52%, Santorum (R) 37%

And before someone has the urge to post "Diebold will steal it," I think it is safe to say that every DUer knows about Diebold already. So whether you are trying to talk anyone out of voting or not, you should remember that dems won big in 05 (in VA, NJ, CA) on plenty of Diebold machines. There is no reason to give up.

1. The more Santorum opens his crazy mouth.....
The more his poll numbers sink. Ridding the Senate of this psychotic bastard will be a major public service for all of us.

2. Santorum & Swann do not compliment each other like Rendell & Casey
The thing that hurts the republicans is that Swann & Santorum do not compliment each other. Casey & Rendell come from opposite ends of the state and will probably campaign heavily together in order to boost Casey's numbers in Philadelphia (where Rendell, former Mayor of Philly is very popular) whereas Casey, a western PA democrat will help pull in numbers for Rendell.

Swann & Santorum will not compliement each other. First, Swann & Santorum are both from Western PA, so neither of them will have any pull in Philadelphia (and trust me, Eagles fan will not see the appeal in a former Pittsburgh Steeler being their governor). Plus Rick Santorum is very unpopular amongst African-American & minority voters AND many of the people who support Santorum include some of the narrow-minded racists that might not be keen on voting for Lynn Swann.

So personally, I think this is going to be a banner year for democrats in Pennsylvania with not only winning statewide for both Governor & Senator but also possibly picking up some seats for both US House and PA STate Congress.

It's all good :D

4. I think the main thing is this equation: Santorum = Bush/Swann = Bush
and Bush is NOT popular in Pennsylvania at all. Santorum and some of the US House republicans have actually made it a point to not show up when Bush does campaign stops in PA because they know they will be hurt by those appearances.

7. I'm still not sure if it was Diebold
or the repukes physically keeping voters away from polls in 2000 and 2004 that screwed up the election.

8. I love the way skipos
now asks the Diebold crew to stay away, in the opening post.

Nothing is more of annoying waste than reading a thread, on any topic, and the machine defeatists barge in and insist we'll win but be cheated.

I loved the rationale after the Virginia gov race last year:

1) wasn't significant enough to steal
2) they have to allow us to win the little ones so the biggies won't be as obvious
3) too big a margin to steal

Maybe Diebold had a bad day, a slump. Or we cheated better than they did.
