Murtha's House Race
Does anyone have poll numbers for his house race against that Bushbot woman who's running against him?

3. Not to hijack thread, but it looks like it'll be
Rudy & Jeb in 08. That way the Repukes can extend the reign of the Smirk family to 24 years instead of just 16.

2. His opponent is Diana Irey. Google her and read GOP pessimism.
It seems John Murtha is considered pretty safe for re-election by people who may or may not know a thing. But the general pessimism about Irey's chances among conservatives is nice to see.

4. The GOP may fix this one however
booting Smirk's harshest critic would be a nice symbolic victory. I'd be surprised if the actual results of this one matched the opinion polls and exit polls, if you know what I mean.

5. Yeah
That's my worry. They want him bad - the way the mob takes out someone who stand up to them, just to make a point. The swiftboating is in full swing now, so, the fix is in, so to speak. I just hope Rendell is watching this one closely for attempted voter supression.

7. I thought one of his areas
was Center County, State College country. It doesn't look like it from that map.

8. I worry about him too
He's not backing down. I thought I might send a donation. He's faced enemies he respects more on the battle field and these pudwackers don't scare him.

9. He represents a solidly Democratic district
Edited on Mon Jun-26-06 01:57 PM by Freddie Stubbs
He is in no danger of not being reelected.

11. I don't know - his district has changed alot since the gerrymandering

I mean one of the things they did with his district was merge it into another democratic district and there is alot of rural PA in that district. I'm not doubting what you're saying but I do think the district is a bit weaker

12. They purposefully packed as many Democrats as possible into the district
so that the surrounding districts would be more Republican.

13. You'd think,
or my naive view of Pennsylvanians, would be that they would prefer a battle-tested war hero to the protege of a snivelling, cocaine-addled coward. I guess you never know.
