People want stability. The Republicans are killing us.
Normal people want stability so they can conduct their real lives and not have to think about politics or the big picture. Instability is invasive and sucks he life out of everything. Entropy, decay, loss, instability: these are the gifts the Republican Congress and Bush gave us. Our American way of life is on shakier ground than it has been in decades, perhaps ever. The polls say we are on the "wrong track." Everyone can feel the sinking feeling, and everyone remembers they didn't have it when Clinton was on the TV.

Someone has to put their finger on why the Republicans deserve to be thrown out of government. I think there is no better answer than that the Republicans have made our country unstable. We are in the red on every single meter, and this happened because of Republicans.

How many divorces have been caused by Republicans allowing jobs to drain away? How many kids have lost their futures because the they can't afford college? How are those of us who are older going to fare when we retire and need to rely on an under-educated, under-opportunitied, over-burdened next generation to keep the food in the grocery stores? How much debt can we continue to pile up? How many nations can we build without neglecting our own?

If this country were a business, it's Profit and Loss report under Bush and the GOP Congress he leads would tell us what we already know. The Republicans are killing us, and they have to go.

1. The Repubs have done more damage than the terrorists...
on the psyche of our people. Indeed, we have lost our freedom. Freedom from fear was one the four freedoms in the famous Norman Rockwell painting, but the Republicans have used fear as a political weapon and in the process have stolen our freedom.

2. Remember the 90's
I know things weren't perfect, but at least I could relax for extended periods of time and not constantly worry about my country dying and simple things like finding work. I can't stand what we've become in 6 short years. I wish I could believe that things will get better, but honestly I don't think they will.

3. The Party of Traitors
It is true that chaos is unsettling, but those who do not wish to think about politics or the big picture are not, as the Reverend T. Lawrence Shannon might have said, operating on the realistic level. Entropy and inertia will always be at odds. The only way to live normally; i.e. democratically, is to strike a balance, and that requires input from citizens. It is, however, clear from your post that I'm not telling you anything you don't already know. The Republicans do need to go precisely because they reject the concept of dialog. Bush himself has said that things would be a lot easier if this country were a dictatorship provided of course they he were the dictator. That is as succinct a description of the Republican agenda as any I have seen. If Americans are too stupid to appreciate this for the lie that it is, then it may well be that there is no hope. I still believe we are better than this, but ultimately I have to say, "Republicans, Reshmuglicans. To hell with their Nazi/Fascist ideology. If I die in the struggle to preserve the democratic republic, then so be it. I will die without a doubt in my mind that these people are traitors."

Thank you for your post.

8. Are you an Independent or a registered Republican.??
Might I ask? If you do not see any changes in our country, you must not have noticed we have lost 2540 troops in Iraq? Or that we are now about $3trillion dollars more in debt? Or that our country is severely divided? Or that immigrants have moved in all around you in San Diego?

Or are you just talking about your own personal well-being? You are doing well? So it doesn't really matter what else is going on around you?
