If the right-wing really wanted to end abortion.
Edited on Sun Jul-09-06 01:19 PM by iconoclastNYC
Lost in the whole debate over abortion is how the fundies, nearly all racists, really dont mind so much inner-city abortions as it is that they want to stop white people from getting rid of thier "perfect beatiful white babies" needed so dearly for "preservation of the white race."

So it makes me wonder, why don't some wealty right-wing fundies pony up the cash to bribe poor white women to keep carry thier children to term and send them off for adoption?

I figure a small monthly stipend would convince many suitable white babymakers to carry to full term.

Cessarians are all the rage now!

Why not induce delivery in the Carribean?

Just imagine a state of the art birthing hospital just steps from the white powerdy sands of U.S. Virgin Islands. Just think of your baby born within earshot of the ocean tide. And you can recover with SPF 30 and Mina Coladas and massages from our Fraterny intern Cabbana boys. But remember it's too soon to get another bun in that white oven! That's why you'll be comign back in 3 months for another 5 day stay.

How much could this cost? Think of all the WHITE BABIES YOU COULD SAVE.

Come on fundies, stop giving to Pat Robertson, put your pocketbook to good use.

If an agent of the left got this going it could starve the GOP and the Dobson's and Robertsons of money and then power.

:sarcasm:

1. they do have groups that do this
they set up as an abortion counseling service and guilt the unsuspecting women into having the babies, housing them in homes for unwed mothers. there was one in my town and no one seemed to know it. that abortion clinic sniper was affiliated with it. worked for a delivery service that was set up to fund the operation. same people used to go the the womens clinic in the next town and organize the protests there.

2. The right wing DOES NOT want to end abortion. Ending abortion is not what
they are about. They have had control of ALL branches of government for nearly what, 6 or 7 years now? If they wanted to end abortion, they could. But they won't, because they need it as a fundraising tool. If you took abortion away, they'd have nothing to run on every election cycle.

3. your claims are a bit over the top...
Wanna give some support to them, in particular these "...the fundies, nearly all racists, really dont mind so much inner-city abortions as it is that they want to stop white people from getting rid of thier "perfect beatiful white babies" needed so dearly for "preservation of the white race.""?

4. your sarcasm is well deserved by the hypocrites
I saw a documentary about how the fundies have teams of attorneys across the country trying to knock out abortions at the state level. They are putting in place absurd regulations, ironically still calling themselves the party of small government, ha! One congressman in Mississippi admitted that if they couldn't make abortions illegal, they would make them impossible to get.

5. Are we white people
really such dastardly folks?

If you reverse all the racial descriptors here you'd get slammed for bigotry.

Frankly, I think you have gone too far.

6. normally and on the surface I agree with your assessment

I rated the level of sarcasm justified because of the machinations behind the scenes that most people are not aware of. I am in the medical field in California and I have seen even in one of the most liberal cities in California - Santa Cruz - where abortions have been moved to higher level care institutions and informed consent has become more detailed including discussion of possible future regret and discussion of alternatives such as adoption. Trust me, that is new. I can only surmise that the legal teams hired by the abortion nazis have been successful in putting in place tough regulations to impede access to abortions. Again, this is in liberal California, ergo the dramatic representation of sarcasm IMO is commensurate with the issue. :)
