CO Gov: Ritter (D) 43%, Beauprez (R) 38%
Edited on Fri Jul-14-06 09:48 PM by skipos
For the second Rasmussen Reports survey in a row, Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter (D) enjoys a five-point margin over Representative Bob Beauprez (R) in the Colorado race for Governor. Ritter leads Beauprez 43% to 38%. Five percent (5%) say they’d vote for some other candidate and 16% are still undecided (see Crosstabs).

2. Qualified good news
Rasmussen's general R tilt doesn't make him reliable, but it at least makes him consistent. Even though Marc Holtzman lost his legal battle to sneak onto the primary ballot, his attacks on Beauprez' right flank have paid off for us. Still, sub-50% numbers don't win elections, and we still have a lot of work to do.

5. He's using a +3.3 for Democratic party ID this year
So we need to be rooting for Rasmussen, not against him. His polls are going to look good for our side due to that +3.3 estimate.

If he's correct we win big in November. The party ID was dead even in '04 according to the NEP. Yeah, yeah, I know, the one we don't accept since it was altered.

3. Knowing Holtzmann, he is refusing to endorse Beauprez.
I haven't checked the rag, but once he lost his battle, he swore that he'll spend millions exposing Beauprez for the nut he is.

Good for Holtzmann, and good for Ritter - btw, we have a Dem legislature, and we'll be TRULY progressive and ready for a new change, and what's better, Dems will have a FAR easier passing their laws than the Repug reps, because frankly, Repugs has done jack shit for the last 40 years when they had the power.

6. the west is slowly turning blue
really, I don't know if people from outside the interior West have seen it all, but so many things have been going our way out here it's gotten me really excited--not least among them as the LDS Church basically saying it's ok to vote and be progressive in their church.

I think when the time comes around, half of our gains are going to come out of this one region this November.
