Please critique this idea. Democrats should print up
"unsworn declarations under penalty of perjury" on plain Avery labels and give them to voters with instructions to attach them to the sample ballot from their newspaper or a copy of a sample ballot, then on election day, mark the ballot exactly as they voted on the evil machines, sign them in a way so that their signature was partially on the label and partially on the ballot, in the presence of a witness. Then, if, for instance, Candidate A got 100 votes in a precinct, it could be shown 200 people stated under penalty of perjury in front of a witness, immediately after voting, that they voted for candidate A in that precinct. I know that not everyone would be willing to do this, but I think enough would so that it would expose any massive fraud.

Sorry for the run on sentences.

1. How about a seperate Demo "ballot box"
just ask people to check the box of the 2 lead candidates they voted for and drop in the dem
box, then afterwards count them as a "forensic check" in the precinct.

2. Without people to swear to the slips of paper in court, I don't see
how this would work. Apparently no one thinks much of my idea anyway.

3. well, I do think your idea is a good one
to have an independent verification of the numbers, but even if people got affadavits I was thinking it would not be credible because it was not verified at the scene. You see what I
am saying. I already did an affadavit saying that my machine defaulted to GWB 5 times in
2004. You see what a fat lot of good it did. Did you hear how smoothly the State of Maryland
primaries went. Well, no, my machine didn't default to Bush 5 times, this time they said
I voted before I walked through the door. I guess that is how dead people vote. Well, I said
if I already voted, could you have the machine also say that I already paid my taxes for 2006.
Well, they "let" me vote, they said they were going to send a "piece" of paper with my vote to
say that I only voted once. Once again, I have no confidence that my vote was counted.

5. People would still have to swear to them in court, this is just to
establish a prima facie case quickly.

4. Sounds like a fairly easy plan to implement since the "paper trail"
probably won't be feasible so close to the Nov. 8th elections. I'm a totally uninfluential person but maybe if you suggested it to the right people, it might gain some attention. IMO, the voting issue is THE single most important issue before us. Without honest, fair elections, we have nothing.
