CBS/New York Times calls Gallup a bunch of liars...
...well, not really, but the poll they released today demonstrates what I wrote yesterday. That Gallup, as is their custom, OVERCOUNTED the Republicans and UNDERCOUNTED the Democrats.

Here's the CBS poll:

George Bush has a 37% approval rating. In line with other polls and much less than what Gallup showed. The CBS numbers were UNCHANGED from August. Which means that despite all the September 11 talk, terrorism scares, a Rose Garden Press Conference, A televised address from the Oval Office, and speech at the UN before the General Assembly...Bush's numbers still remain in the shitter.

In the race for Congress...

Democrats 50%
Republicans 35%

That's right...a 15 point lead for the good guys. How does that jive with Gallup's tie?

Funny, I don't think you're going to hear much about this on FOX news and/or on the Drudge Report.

2. You won't hear it on other networks, either
Gallup has completely ruined a formerly well respected poll by fudging the numbers to reflect wishful thinking instead of reality.

Beware of other polls that seem to pop up overnight to confirm Gallup. Remeber, they did exactly the same thing in 2004, trying to justify theft.

44% seems to be the "magic" number now. And the pubs are getting very favorable coverage in the article. "They're on the comeback trail". If I read one more slanted article that either explicitly says, or implies that democrats "have no plans"....I think I'll :puke:

What these slanted articles neglect to tell the reader is that Dems don't own the MSM, and unlike the Whitehouse, Dems don't have a gaggle of asskissing reporters following them around from the time they wake up until they turn the lights out at night.

12. Well, the Los Angeles Times calls CBS/NYT the liars
Their new poll also has Bush at 44% : http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-poll21sep21,0,2149217.story?coll=la-home-headlines

I'm already weary of this topic and it's not even the last week of September. Look, Bush's approval number is going to naturally drift up as Republicans come back to his camp and gas prices decline. We can debate and deny in one thread after another but the basics will be there. Minus an outside event, hopefully something like revelations from the detainees, the number will inch up. We're still in good shape but we weren't lucky enough to catch election day at a point of Bush's approval basement. I predicted months ago he would be at 45% by election day and now I would almost take that.

Here's the good news: ratings of the GOP controlled do-nothing congress are incredibly low and Bush had a 59/29 approval rating immediately prior to the 2002 midterm. We were overly optimistic then but this time it's legit.
