1. Lie - Lie your ass off. If we tell the truth we are done for - so lie and maybe just maybe we'll keep control of the house and/or senate. If we do - we'll cover up on the lies and nobody will ever be the wiser. If we lose - well - the Dems are gonna get us anyway.

2. Obsfucate - turn things around. Say the Dems leaked the Foley story for political reasons. Blame Soros. Blame Clinton. Say Clinton did worse things and in the WH.

3. Lie some more.

4. Lie again.

2. The smart Republican would focus on the Foley scandal.

Whenever he's asked about it he should say the leadership's behavior is beyond the pale and they should resign their position & their seat immediately. This will defuse the issue & give his opponent nowhere else to go. Once that's done, it would also allow him to emphasize the standard GOP positions for the rest of the campaign.

He would recognize that the GOP is going to loose the majority in Nov, so this would go very far to preserve his own seat - with perhaps a chance at a leadership position for himself.
