Woodward: Cheney Cursed At Me About ‘State of Denial,’ Then Hung Up The Phone

Today on Meet the Press, Bob Woodward described how Vice President Dick Cheney called him 10 days ago about Woodward’s new book State of Denial. Woodward says Cheney cursed at him (”he said what I was saying was bull-something”) and then hung up the phone.

24. I thought it was interesting when Russert tried to move on

that Woodward continued - he had to interrupt Russert to get that part in about the metaphor. I don't understand what Woodward's motivation is, and I don't trust him, but he does seem to be redeeming himself for some of his previous writing. The "metaphor" part was an attack on the administration, and he fought to get that in there before Russert continued. He certainly doesn't seem afraid of the administration, and I'm really glad the book (and tv appearances) came out, no matter what his motivation.
