A Democratic congressional candidate released a television ad Tuesday
attacking U.S. Rep. Thomas Reynolds's handling of the Capitol Hill page
scandal.
"Tom Reynolds knew that Congressman Mark Foley was a predator, going
after a 16-year-old boy," a narrator's voice says in the 30-second spot.
"What did he do? Tom Reynolds urged Foley to seek re-election."
Jack Davis' ad, his first public swing at the issue, implies Reynolds was
more interested in protecting a Republican seat in Congress than underage
pages from Foley's advances. It's a theme Democrats have seized on since
Reynolds, the chairman of the House GOP's campaign effort, said last week
that he had been told of Foley's "overly friendly" e-mails months ago.
