WTF? USNews.com: Bush has "shied away" from bashing Dems!

Come On, Bush, It's All or Nothing Now

http://www.usnews.com/usnews/politics/whispers/articles/061022/30whisplead.htm

Congressional Republican leaders are urging President Bush to join in their pre-election bashing of Democratic leaders, but so far he's shied away. Pollster John Zogby says Bush should listen to his team because warning voters about the changes a Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid or House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would institute could save the GOP. "That could be a winning strategy," he says. But since only Bush has a national megaphone, "it's really going to have to be the president" who yells at the Democrats, says Zogby.

This story appears in the October 30, 2006 print edition of U.S. News & World Report.

1. I don't think that Bush getting out front
and saying "don't vote for Dems, because they will undo my mess" would be a very useful strategy.

Having said that, I'm all for it.

2. So much for that "uniter, not a divider" horseshit, I guess!!
That strategy was about as effective as his war plans!

But maybe THIS tidbit, on the linked page, has something to do with the wee cowboy's silence:

Chatty Abramoff Gets an FBI Desk

Jack Abramoff, the lobbying scandal figure, has become such a chatty rat that probe insiders say he's been given a desk to work at in the FBI. We're told he spends up to four hours a day detailing his shady business to agents eager to nail more congressmen in the scandal. And when cooperative witnesses spend that much time inside, they get a desk. As a result of his help in the ever expanding investigation, we hear that the Feds hope to keep him in a nearby prison after he's sentenced on his conspiracy admission.

After all, no need to "poke the bear" is there? (Hat tip to Scooter Libby for the bear poking idea!)

6. Bush has bashed us: Zogby's words contradict his polls.
I watched the fraud-in- chief confirming his charge that Democrats want to raise the white flag of surrender as late as 11:000 am today, so don't try to sell BS about doofus being above the fray.
And for all of the play that Zogby's release of multiple outlier Senate polls which suggested a Republican tide, he seems to think that without W's personal involvement in dirty campaigning the Congress is lost to the RW.

8. C'mon - it's Screwed-Up News & Hurled Distort - what do you expect?
Any publication that proudly features Michael Barone, Mort Zuckerman and David Gergen as the House Liberal will do whatever they need to do - i.e. "lie" - whenever necessary.
