GOP ads warn of 'homosexual agenda' from S.F.
SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE (10-28) -- Republican charges of a San Francisco "homosexual agenda'' and allegations that a liberal "San Francisco majority'' in Congress would endanger the nation have emerged as themes in the final two weeks of the Nov. 7 midterm election campaign.

The latest salvos are variations on a constant GOP refrain this year, tied to the prospect that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, a "San Francisco liberal,'' would become speaker if Democrats make at least a 15-seat gain in the midterm elections.

"You know, they use me all over the country, my radical homosexual agenda,'' said Pelosi, in San Francisco Friday before heading to campaign stops in Colorado and New Mexico.

"I've never seen a situation where a national party has run against a particular part of the country. It makes me wonder what the Republicans in San Francisco think about the assault that they are making on our city. But it doesn't bother me,'' she said.

3. Homosexuals from San Francisco!? Forbid it, Almighty God!
Edited on Sat Oct-28-06 08:21 AM by Old Crusoe
Better hurry up the completion date on that border fence and rush construction on a new wall encircling the Bay Area.

Make it pronto. Otherwise, homosexuals could move from San Francisco to YOUR home town.

______________

I support a huge Democratic wave on Nov. 7th, a Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and I condemn the Republicans for using sexual orientation as a wedge issue which divides Americans against each other and fosters an environment of violence against its citizens.

4. "I've never seen a situation where a national party has run against
a particular part of the country."

But we HAVE seen a particular part of the country (Texas Republicans) run against and dominate a whole nation.

5. The Republican Party has come to mean division. It stands for
dividing people against each other.

It is intemperate and divisive and deceitful.

I hope voters take notice in 10 days.

9. Me too. I am afraid to see the lengths they will go to
1) hold onto power, and
2) avoid subpeonas and investigations.

There is mass institutionalized corruption.

11. It really has sunk. I never entirely liked it back in the days of John
Chafee and Lowell Weicker, but people like that at least kept it a humane organization.

Not now. Not with McConnell and Santorum and THE CAT BUTCHER and people even worse than that, and now after 6 years of Dubya, the party's in tatters.

10. It's a beautiful city, bordering on spectacularly beautiful. The Bay Area
generally is expensive but rich in possibilities and opportunities of all kinds.

I like a Thai restaurant in San Francisco, I think on 9th Avenue along the N Line (I think), called Sukothai.

Wow is that a good place.

And for a relatively small city in population, SF has a powerful opera company and symphony orchestra.

13. And the social diversity is a huge, huge plus. Quite a few of the
towns the Republicans are trying to protect from Nancy Pelosi and her "gay agenda" would profit from having a more diverse population and culture.

If Republican heterosexuals have both straight and gay children, it's supremely hypocritical for the Rovians to sling this kind of mud.

16. Thanks for the kick in the ass
Here it is 8:00 AM and I'm still lingering over my coffee when I should be out there workin' on The Agenda. Got to break up at least one marriage today, maybe seduce a NASCAR dad or two, not to mention I represent the gay contingent on our local Destroy Christmas Coalition and I haven't even worked on my presentation yet.
