Calif. vet slams GOP congressional foe
A Democratic Vietnam veteran running for Congress lashed out at his Republican opponent Friday after a series of Republican-financed attacks questioning his support for U.S. troops.

In a rare display of anger, retired Air Force Maj. Charlie Brown called Republican Rep. John Doolittle a coward who is "hiding behind the flag" and slammed him for failing to serve in Vietnam.

"While I was being shot at in Vietnam, John Doolittle was practicing his tennis game at (the University of California) Santa Cruz," Brown said during a news conference as he was surrounded by fellow veterans.

Brown, 56, left the Air Force in 1998 after 26 years of service. His wife, Jan, also served in the Air Force as a nurse and his son, Jeff, is an Air Force captain who will begin his fourth tour of duty in Iraq in December.

Yeah doolittle was a young republican, just like the ones avoiding military service today and who will be running for office in the near future.

2. Just sent this letter to John Doolittle
It utterly amazes me how people who have never served this country can disparage, belittle, and insult our veterans who have. Like George Bush, Saxby Chamblis et al., you say you support our troops, but yet you insult our veterans. The republicans have cut veterans benefits time and time again. The republicans have refused to give help to those returning from Iraq. The republicans have refused to give those still in Iraq the help they need.

Now you insult a man who has sacrificed for this country, a man whose family has done the same. He wore the uniform, as did his wife and son. How DARE you say Mr. brown doesn't support the troops when he own son is about to start his fourth tour in Iraq.

Mr. Doolittle why did you not serve? Did you or have you encouraged your kids to serve? If this war on Iraq is so important to you, why do you not ask your son to serve.

Because you are a hypocrite and a liar. These are not the acts of a Christian. You need to stop living by the word of Paul and live by the word of Christ.

Support our troops, vote for one.

I AM SICK AND TIRED OF THE HYPOCRISY AND THE LIES
