Wes Clark's ad for Lamont.
http://nedlamont.com/blog/1997/new-ad-with-general-wes-clark#comment

“I’m retired General Wes Clark. Joe Lieberman introduced the resolution authorizing the war in Iraq. That was a mistake. Joe Lieberman voted for that resolution without asking the tough questions. That was also a mistake. And now, three and a half years into a failing mission in Iraq, Joe Lieberman can’t seem to say we should change the course, and that’s a real mistake. Re-elect Joe Lieberman? Well, there’s a word for it: mistake.”

1. Someone should make an ad...
...with Joe Lieberman harranguing <sp> Wes Clark and Howard Dean about their "commitment to the Democratic Party" from the 2004 debates, his insisting that they promise "not to run as Independents" should they lose the primary...

26. How has that NOT been made into an ad, or at least a YouTube video??
Totally undercuts Lieberman. Great idea.

39. Please, someone, make this ad!!!
Wes Clark's ad was Great!

But rubbing Holy Joe's nose in his previous Holier Than Thou pronouncement -- especially given the circumstances of his current run -- would also have a chance to bring wavering Democrats to their senses before election day. If they can just see it in stark terms: Show the clip from 2004. Then show a bit about the results of this year's Connecticut primary, including Joe's announcement that he will run as an Independent. Then ask, "Does Joe Lieberman really believe what he tells the voters?" (pause) "Do you?"

Or something like that.

3. GREAT AD. Thanks again to Wes Clark.
For those unaware, Biden-Lugar version of IWR would have had the votes needed to pass, but for Lieberman undercutting those working to push it through.

The significance is that Biden-Lugar would have been a bit better bill, but more IMPORTANTLY would have caused LESS division among the Democrats since more were for that version of IWR than there were the final IWR bill.

Bush would have lied to get war with ANY version of a resolution, as the DSM prove, but the greater point is that there would have been less division for Dem party, and THAT was Rove's goal right before the 2002 election.

11. Wes Clark makes it look easy
Leadership and teamwork. Joe Lieberman will never understand this because he's been a party member to see what "we" can do for him. Lieberman will never worry his head about what he can do for us.

15. Correct: Lieberman called us "Insurgents"
WTF? The bush team is bankrolling Lieberman, and he will dance to their dollar.

Here's what I can't grasp: the Democratic leadership will before long demand party unity. Where's the unity about this Connecticut race? Lieberman cannot even bring himself to endorse the idea of a Democratic congress. I know I will eventually read madfloridians' articles about the Bloomberg Democrats; but not this minute. I'm too pissed about the torture-war Dems. at the moment.

And if anyone in Connecticut doubts for an instant that Lieberman will go along with bombing Iran, I've got a bridge to nowhere to sell them.

20. Where the hell is Obama?
Wasn't he supposed to help Ned? Sending out an email is NOT my idea of REAL help. Isn't he going to be in New England 'whoring' his new book? And doesn't have time to stop in CT and help Ned.

I will remember that.

Hey, folks in IL....call or write Obama and tell him to do the right thing...go to CT and help Ned! thx.

"George Bush says stay the course," Clark said. "How can you stay the course when you're in a ditch? Joe Lieberman has been part of that ditch."

Thanks for posting the link femmedem.

Thanks to General Clark for publically supporting the right candidate. He doesn't shy away from a battle. Yet he's decent. A, dare I say, Dem with balls. And I lived to see the day.
