Paul Hackett who?
Remember him?

Thank God they moved him out and moved Sherrod Brown in! Turns out, it made the difference between us taking the Senate and two more years of same old same old.

11. You're right, he didn't
Beware of darkness
Watch out now
Take care beware

Watch out now, take care
Beware of falling swingers
Dropping all around you
The pain that often mingles
In your fingertips
Beware of darkness

Watch out now, take care
Beware of the thoughts that linger
Winding up inside your head
The hopelessness around you
In the dead of night

Beware of sadness
It can hit you
It can hurt you
Make you sore and what is more
That is not what you are here for

Watch out now, take care
Beware of soft shoe shufflers
Dancing down the sidewalks
As each unconscious sufferer
Wanders aimlessly
Beware of Maya

Watch out now, take care
Beware of greedy leaders
They take you where you should not go
While Weeping Atlas Cedars
They just want to grow, grow and grow
Beware of darkness (beware of darkness)

GEORGE HARRISON - "Beware Of Darkness" lyrics

13. Yes, he did
He came out to several fundraisers in CA to help raise money for Ohio candidates. I saw him at a rally for Charlie Brown (challenging Doolittle) on Saturday. He was terrific.

9. exactly Ozark
I am very grateful to all our Dems that put themselves out there to run for office this year. They did great and carried a Democratic message to many, many voters. We had more contested races and finally have a number of Democratic leaders in Ohio!!!! I'm so proud of our Democrats.

I hope Paul runs again, be it for State Rep or U.S. Congress... he is charismatic and does well with the media. It would be great to have him in an elected office.

8. Agree - that's what he should have done
But DeWine would have kicked his butt all up and down the state, no matter how much money he had. Running for Senate is more than a notion - Sherrod Brown had the political experience, savvy, name recognition and rep in the state to pull it off. Hackett wouldn't have come close.

4. I think Paul Hackett would have pulled it out.
They're both the same kind of no-nonsense guys. I thought Paul was very balanced about being shuffled out. I think he would have been a great leader at the end of the day.

I like guys like that. Rough-and-tough liberals. Sherrod is the same way.

Aren't we all?

12. Not throwing him under the bus - just reminding folks that the DSCC
strategy was dead on, despite all of the naysaying at the time.

14. It was obviously a good move on the part of the Dems to push Brown instead
I like Hackett, still do. Like what he has to say. But considering Lamont's fate in CT, maybe that was a wise move. Brown won. Who knows what could have been, but what is is pretty damn good.

I hope Hackett remains vocal, and close by.

Cheers to Hackett and Brown.

15. Paul Hackett may be the future of the Democratic Party
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 10:39 PM by derby378
Don't write him off just yet. I'm convinced that more Ohioans voted against DeWine than they voted for Brown. And Brown's a good guy, don't get me wrong.
