Waxman has Bush administration in sights
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061125/ap_on_go_co/profile_waxman

LOS ANGELES - The lawmaker poised to cause the Bush administration's biggest headaches when Democrats take control of Congress may just be a grocer's son from Watts who's hardly a household name off Capitol Hill.

Rep. Henry Waxman (news, bio, voting record) has spent the last six years waging a guerrilla campaign against the White House and its corporate allies, launching searing investigations into everything from military contracts to Medicare prices from his perch on the Government Reform Committee.

In January, Waxman becomes committee chairman — and thus the lead congressional hound of an administration many Democrats feel has blundered badly as it expanded the power of the executive branch.

Waxman's biggest challenge as he mulls what to probe?

"The most difficult thing will be to pick and choose," he said> end snip

I love IT!!

As Ms. Pelosi said.....
it's time to drain the Republican swamp in Washington. It's going to take a looooooooong time. No one has had any oversight of the swamp for quite some time and it's gotten totally out of control.
I have all confidence in Mr. Waxman's ability to define, find and drain the fetid Republican swamp that is plaguing our country.

5. NPR interview with Henry Waxman

11/15/06 NPR interview with Henry Waxman
Waxman says his priorities include investigating no-bid contracts for Iraq and the government's management of post-war Iraq.

I am assuming his investigations will be on C-Span...stocking up on lots of popcorn to watch Waxman's investigations!

close and personal might be just the thing to force us to get it!

... waiting for the scales to fall from their eyes. Man are they going to be pissed! Bush helped Big Pharma and Big Health Insurance drill wells into the boomers' healthcare. It has everything. Deliberate deception by the Bush White House. Skulduggery by Tom DeLay and the GOP Congress. Copious quantities of sympathetic victims. And villains.

... Then if we can talk her in to appointing Waxman in as our other Senator here for another 4+ years to finish out her Senate term, life would be great, wouldn't it?

I can only dream can I?...

15. Give 'em Hell, Henry
I want to see:

*Hearings where Bushco Underlings are very uncomfortable and many of them "take the Fifth" to prevent self-incrimination.

*Several High Ranking Administration Officials forced to resign.

*Some of those individuals doing the perp-walk in handcuffs.

*At least one 'suicide' of a high ranking Bushco official.

*Cheney resign for 'health reasons.'

*George Dubya resign and do the 'Nixon Wave' boarding Marine One.

and, finally:

*Britt Hume explaining why all of this 'really doesn't matter' in the 2008 election.

(It would also be nice to see Rush Limbaugh go to jail for some really embarrassing crime.)

18. Too bad we won't have time
With all this current, relevant, and egregious stuff that these idiots need a comeuppance for, there won't be time to dig up 25 year old scandals about S&L's, or AWOL from National Guard, or SEC violations for corporate dealings. And no time for sex scandals either, though Jeff Gannon would be recent vintage.

these investigations. The MSM will try to crucify him. We need to attack them everytime they do.
