1. Sanders should be on that list
Whether you think he will or not.
After all he is the first Socialist elected to the Senate and deserves to be considered.

11. I'd like to think it would be Bernie. but not likely for a while.
I voted for James Webb. But in the fullness of time --- go, Bernia, go!

2. I'm more familiar with McCaskill than any of the others
being from northern Arkansas and watching the campaign commercials from Missouri. She's pledged to get minimum wage and other "bread and butter" issues, and has promised not to get into the Beltway mentality. It will be interesting to see if she follows up on these promises.

3. Webb has the moral high ground in the Iraq debate.
His credibility on the issue is formidable for obvious reasons and he will not back down.

7. This should be an interesting poll to revisit in a year
I really don't have any idea what the answer is.
There are a lot of good contenders here.

9. Lieberman
He'll pull everybody's strings, or try to. He'll make GWB look like a spirit of grace. He isn't housebroken, even.

10. RW media
I'd look for whoever's being most furiously denounced in the RW media, and so far Brown and Webb are out ahead.

14. Jon Tester
He has a bit of that Teddy Roosevelt no nonsense persona.

As a junior Senator, I don't really think he'll be in much of a position to "shake things up", but he seems like the type that's going to rankle the feathers of his seniors.

18. I think Webb will be a real thorn in their ass
He's all American, and has great military experience. He worked with Reagan for God's sake! He has those good 'ole "bipartisan" credentials and will be an effective voice.

Otherwise, I think Tester will also be great and will bring real people's concerns to DC.

22. I'd like to say Tester, but so far, it looks like Webb
I think Tester may be more effective in the long run however... There's a difference (in my mind at least) between shaking things up and being effective, and Webb seems like the prime shaker-upper of the freshman class.

I don't make a lot of money, but I make more than Jon Tester made until he became a Senator. I think someone who actually worked his ass off for no money will be in a better position to work hard for the masses, therefore, being more effective.
