AP: Waxman Has Bush Administration in Sights
Waxman Has Bush Administration in Sights

By ERICA WERNER

LOS ANGELES Nov 25, 2006 (AP)— The lawmaker poised to cause the Bush
administration's biggest headaches when Democrats take control of
Congress may just be a grocer's son from Watts who's hardly a household
name off Capitol Hill.

Rep. Henry Waxman has spent the last six years waging a guerrilla campaign
against the White House and its corporate allies, launching searing
investigations into everything from military contracts to Medicare prices
from his perch on the Government Reform Committee.

In January, Waxman becomes committee chairman and thus the lead
congressional hound of an administration many Democrats feel has blundered
badly as it expanded the power of the executive branch.

"There is just no question that life is going to be different for the
administration," said Rep. Tom Davis, R-Va., the current committee chairman.
"Henry is going to be tough. … And he's been waiting a long time to be able
to do this."

3. That ass Davis is my Congressman
I worked hard to try and get rid of him this fall but the scum has too much money. Maybe next time. I hope Davis gets an office down in the basement of the Capitol, with all the other rats.

10. Waxman and Conyers
are the best, they are both oldtimers who never forgot what they were in Congress for and who it is that they serve.

Be very proud!

18. I am VERY proud.
I've called his office both locally AND in DC, and cheered him on. If he's got a backbone (which he HAS), I've got lots of calcium supplement.

12. If he comes up with evidence of crimes committed by bush Pelosi would have to go along with it
and impeach if necessary. Someone remind Ms. Pelosi that she does not own the Senate.

13. And I can hardly wait for Henry to have the ability to control the
direction of the committee. They will be a very busy bunch, lots and lots of things need to be looked at.

I'm thrilled that Henry Waxman is going to finally have the opportunity to do what needs to be done. This is not good for Bush/GOP, which means its good for the rest of the world.

16. Great news for science
I have become quite a big fan of Rep. Waxman ever since I noticed that he is the one that questions * about issues related to science. Such as packing science committees with corporate nonscientists, redacting reports from science agencies that don't support their policies, etc. I hope he finds out who was on the energy commission so that we can move on with a sound energy policy that doesn't just throw money to the oil industry.
