There appear to be a few people here who think some of us can not discriminate about which blogs and which media are credible. I think overall most here do pretty well in posting sources that are definitely better researched and more honest than some of the cable news networks.
Today some one questioned that Lieberman did not want investigations to proceed. It is true. I am just posting the one from the Aspen Institute last year where Joe said he did not want us digging around about what went on in 2003.
The Aspen Institute is not a blog. It is very much in the middle if not more to the right. People here need to accept that many of our blogs on the left are excellent, outstanding sources of research.
Lieberman doesn't want to to see us "digging around anymore for who did what in 2003"I was criticized for posting this, but that was unfair. Here is part of what he said there.
Both senators offered foreboding predictions for the situation in Iraq if America's political setting continues to be as divided as it is currently. "I anticipate a very stressful situation unless this Government takes strong control in Iraq—120 days from now is when serious stress on where we're going to go will begin to set in," said Warner. "I don't want to see us digging around anymore for who did what in 2003," said Lieberman, stating that continued partisan finger pointing is damaging the public support that is needed to complete the efforts in Iraq and finally bring US troops home.
"This is a very partisan time in the history of our nation's politics.
have infected our consideration in matters of foreign policy," said Lieberman. "I fear that our national security and national interests are suffering because of it," he continued, adding that change "has to start, ought to start with the President."
"The American people would be prepared to accept the casualties if they had two things: an understanding of why we're there and an understanding of what the plan is. The President has done a good job in the last month of explaining why we're in Iraq, but we need more about a plan."More at

Lieberman doesn't want 'a witch hunt' on KatrinaWASHINGTON -- Connecticut Sen. Joseph Lieberman blasted the Bush administration last spring for failing to cooperate in the Senate's investigation of Hurricane Katrina. But now that he is in a key position to press the investigation, he is refusing to do so.
Spokeswoman Leslie Philips said Friday that Lieberman, the new chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, wouldn't issue subpoenas to the White House as he called for less than a year ago.
"The senator believes a more productive use of his time and that of his staff is to make sure legislative fixes are implemented and ensure that a response to a future catastrophe is better," Philips said. "The senator feels the American public has already concluded that the White House response was sorely lacking. Rather than take on the White House and open an old fight, he believes he can be more productive by moving forward."
He will probably hinder two investigations that desperately need to be done, and neither of my sources are "blogs".
