Anyone notice that Bush says if we don't win in Iraq the world will end but
he also says our commitment is not open ended? His specific words are:

"If we do not defeat the terrorists or extremists in Iraq, they will gain access to vast oil reserves, and use Iraq as a base to overthrow moderate governments across the broader Middle East. They will launch new attacks on America from this new safe haven. They will pursue their goal of a radical Islamic empire that stretches from Spain to Indonesia."

So that sounds really really bad right? Bad enough that a president who really believed it would not even consider allowing anything but complete victory. So why does he also say:

"Our commitment is not open ended"

It is like saying, "If we don't fix our water supply certain deadly bacteria will contaminate our drinking water and we will certainly and absolutely die. But if we can't fix it within 3 years we are going to give up."

He is so full of shit and he knows it!

1. He can't even keep his lies straight.
As for us, we have the absolutely wonderful choice between allowing the oil to fall into the hands of "terrorists" who will use the proceeds to wage war on us (according to Shrub), or allowing it to fall into the hands of the BFEE who will use it to consolidate their control of American public life.

What a great pair of options. It's like being asked, "would your rather be shot in the head with an Glock or a S&W?"
