Reflect on this a sec...top contenders for the Democratic Nomination...
Edited on Sat Feb-10-07 04:13 PM by SaveElmer
Top three in the polls, a woman, an African American, and a white man....

And a hispanic who I think will show he is a top contender as well...

Any one of whom should they be nominated, would be the odds on favorite to be the next President

We should just step back a sec and think of how historic this is

It is the Democratic Party that looks like America, and over the next two years the American people are going to see why...

on edit: man my typing sucks!!!

10. and Catholic, and Protestant!
With total honesty, all of these groups can claim him (as well as secular humanists!)

14. No, Bucky.
I meant Wes.

You are unlikely to EVER meet anyone who loathes Sore Loserman like I do. And if you ever did, you should stay away from them because they would REALLY be scary.

15. Considering Clark to be Jewish is a little silly, don't you think?
I figured you meant Clark. But of course he's not Jewish. His biological father was. He was raised Protestant and remains so to this day. The only question is... "Is Clark Protestant enough?"

18. Man, why do people have to argue about everything on DU?
Sometimes I think we're all fucking nuts.

Look, I am Jewish. I am proud to be Jewish.

My children are Jewish. Their mother is not, so technically they are not Jewish.

But, there are cultural as well as genetic factors to being Jewish.

Also, since I like Clark and I think him to be more Jewish-acting than Lieberman, I was being partly facetious, but partly serious.

In Yiddish, when you like someone, you say they are a "mensch". That's how I meant it.

Now unless you are personally offended by my saying he is Jewish, why don't you give it a rest?

2. The primary contenders' demographics represent
Edited on Sat Feb-10-07 04:20 PM by FrenchieCat
Us, but the result will be a deluted minority vote (Many voters WILL vote on racial and gender lines for who is most like them)....leaving one person standing; representing the status quo, i.e., the voting majority.

and so I say......Wes Clark, please Run! The playing field needs to be leveled and your constituency needs you!

3. "The playing field needs to be leveled and your constituency needs you!" Whaaa???
How would Clark's 2% support "level the playing field"?

And this is about his "constituency"?

This is a bizarre post, indeed.

4. Bizzare is the person who attempts to ridicule what others say
based on nothing more than a laugh....because intelligent rationale escapes them.

If you don't think that Wes Clark has a contituency--Foreign policy/national security/military voters, the you are in denial....and only going along with what the media and its "say it enough, and enough will believe" poll results are, 1 year before the fact.

Some of us know better....while others hop on for the ride!

7. Bizarre indeed
You want Clark to run because you think Edwards has the southern white vote locked up? And you think that southern white guys are a majority in the primaries? Are you aware that the first contests are in New Hampshire and Iowa? In addition, are you aware that Clark didn't win a single southern state and Edwards only won one southern state last time around?

You aren't even giving Clark a chance? This post is just bizarre.

8. It's not bizarre at all!
Maybe you just don't understand what I'm saying...and it is possible that I didn't make myself as clear as I would have wanted to.
