Who’s Who of Fascist America?
Edited on Mon Feb-26-07 02:09 PM by Gryphons Eyre
A recent article in the New York Times renewed my interest in what exactly is the connection between right wing politics in America and the Christian Right. The article, Christian Right Labors to Find ’08 Candidate speaks of a recent event attended in secret by members of the “Council for National Policy”. This sent me off searching for information concerning who exactly the “Council for National Policy” is and what might their agenda be. I found this. Eugenics, Knight of Malta, and John Denver are only parts of this saga that seems too fantastic to believe but perhaps it is as Bill Moyers might say, “you can’t make this stuff up.”

I recently read Chris Hedges book "American Fascist: The Christian Right and the War on America" which I already referenced in another reply and though I hate to be redundant, I believe this is of major importance to anyone in this nation that believes in religious freedom and civil liberties. I had heard about the book in this NPR "talk of the nation" interview with Chris Hedges and suddenly a lot of pieces just seemed to fit.

If you read the list at the end of the link offered above under “Database of Council for National Policy Past/Present Officers & Prominent Members Index” you will see a number of the names Chris Hedges talks about and who they are associated with. I will leave any meaning or conclusions one might draw to the reader but I believe this constitutes the greatest threat to America today; at least the America our founding fathers envisioned.

1. the Bush family has long been enamored of eugenics
Poppy was such a promoter of the depopulation of "lesser" groups of people that when he was a U.S. Congressman he was dubbed the nickname "Rubbers" -- which he hated. The clan has a long view, and it isn't generous to us lessers.

5. And when he was a CIA operative he was nicked with Poppy - because he oversaw
the heroin trade.

Interesting that people still forget that tons of the cheap IranContra cocaine was being dumped in black communities which exploded into the crack epidemic.

Fortunately, BET has a documentary in recent rotation that deals with the issue - American Gangster. Good view for those of you interested in how the black community was targeted for drugdumping as part of an official covert operation.

8. Poppy and clan are new comers and small fry
they are three generations at work on clawing to the top but they didn't have all the much moolah until recently.

Look to wealthy industrialists, arms dealers, and media moguls to be the ones funding the thinking behind the actions of the pawns.

9. everybody knows all there is to know about this I'm sure
I frequently find the more in depth a subject is the less it registers on the sound byte meter.
I realize politics is "Hollywood for ugly people". I see endless posts, one liners really that for me do not constitute real thought at all, about he said this or she said that. Is Gore running or isn't he. But something substantive that is undermining all of it does not deserve the time it takes to understand much less actually do something about it.

I am new here; I see a lot of good being accomplished in the establishment of community. I also see however a on going soap opera which Americans seem to be fixated on while business as usual goes on underneath the surface glitz and glitter unabated.

7. Yea, it makes your skin crawl, look at the RW media
Edited on Mon Feb-26-07 05:43 PM by bluedawg12
500 + RW radio stations popped up when the great communicator repealed the fairness in broadcasting doctrine.

And doesn't Wupertmurdick own half the media in the world or so?

It's called an oligarchy and seems to be global. Those who aren't global aspire to be.

Consider the reach of Cheneyburton and other contractor who now represent the American people and set corporate policy overseas, wielding guns, running prisons and so on.

6. Add these to the list >>>
“Into the Mainstream...” link gives an over view of the surprising interconnection between so called think tanks and actual political activism.

“IQ and the Wealth of Nations is a controversial 2002 book by Dr. Richard Lynn, Professor Emeritus of Psychology at the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland, and Dr. Tatu Vanhanen, Professor Emeritus of Political Science at the University of Tampere, Tampere, Finland<1>. The book argues that differences in national income (in the form of per capita gross domestic product) correlate with differences in average national IQ.

Lynn has been frequently criticized as a Pioneer fund grantee.

The book was followed by Lynn's 2006 Race Differences in Intelligence...”

“The Pioneer Fund is a American non-profit foundation that was established in 1937 and is currently headed by psychology professor J. Philippe Rushton. The fund publishes the journal Mankind Quarterly. Its stated purpose is, "to advance the scientific study of heredity and human differences." The fund focuses its support to projects which it perceives will not be otherwise funded due to controversial subject matter.

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a civil rights advocacy organization, has characterized the Pioneer Fund as a "hate group. <2> The SPLC cites the Pioneer Fund's funding of some organizations and individuals the SPLC considers racist. <3>”
