"Gore's entire career has been laden with untruths..."
"...all demonstrating a pattern of serial abuse of language, truth and reality. He invented the Internet, discovered Love Canal and was the inspiration for 'Love Story.'" -- Arianna Huffington

THE REVENGE OF THE 90's: Luckily for the average American, Arianna Huffington is always there to tell us who the Biggest Liars are. Yesterday, in several posts, she directly affirmed David Geffen’s statement on the subject. So you’ll remember, here’s what the insightful mogul had said about Bill and Hillary Clinton:

GEFFEN: Everybody in politics lies, but they do it with such ease, it's troubling.

Arianna directly affirmed this statement. Luckily, she’s always willing to name the Biggest Liars.

Of course, Arianna managed to spot the Big Liar in 1999 too. Just so you’ll recall how brilliant she was, let’s revisit her deathless wisdom—the wisdom which sent George Bush to the White House. But please—hide the eyes of the children and pets! Here’s what the sooth-saying savant once said, in her nationally syndicated column:

HUFFINGTON (2/6/00): Bradley has warned voters to watch for Mr. Gore's "tricky" way with words, going as far as to compare him with Richard Nixon...In fact, not only this campaign but Mr. Gore's entire career has been laden with untruths—all demonstrating a pattern of serial abuse of language, truth and reality.

He invented the Internet, discovered Love Canal and was the inspiration for "Love Story..."

Good God, that’s awful! “Gore's entire career has been laden with untruths.” Back then, Gore was the world’s Biggest Liar. Today, Arianna keeps busy by kissing Gore’s ass—and she now says that it’s really the Clintons! The Clintons are really the world’s Biggest Liars! As always, Arianna is there.

"Do you trust Arianna? She's spewing the same lies about our front runner today. Are you going to let her decide your vote?" -- Bartcop.

1. I don't agree with Arianna, and she appears to have her own agenda.....
but she's got a powerful website that appears to allow for varied opinions.

I don't trust her, but I respect the site that she has built.

4. I think democrats who bash democrats are as bad or worst than the republicans.
If the democrat was a crook, liar or stealer of taxpayer money such as it is suggested Jefferson was, something like that is different. But bashing to be bashing is horrible.. And it only helps the republicans cash in, and try to build on "democrats are spilt and unorganized".

THEY SHOULD SHUT UP FOR GOODNESS SAKE. There are several democrat candidates I don't care for but I would not bash them.

14. Double agents
I've seen a lot of Democrats looking too much like republicans. Some of them are at the top of the party.

9. "democrats" who bash Democrats are worse because we're much more imaginative
"democrats" who bash Democrats are worse because we're much more imaginative when coming up with a justification as to "why you should hate candidate X".

I've noticed that in the past few weeks, as the high of taking back the Houses wore off, we're off to get a newer and better high by belittling particular Democratic candidates.

I can understand an actual critique of a candidate, but when I read statements such as, "you CAN'T be a Dem if you vote for X!!!", well... it makes me think we're no better than the FReepers at times.

5. Arianna didn't have to tell me anything about Hilary
and I had made up my mind without her input on Al Gore. (I was for him)

Hilary may be the "front runner" today, but I think we need someone else if we want to put a liberal Democrat in the White House.

She's got way too much baggage and if she's the candidate I'll vote for her and watch with sadness as President McCain is sworn in.

6. Didn't Arianna get in trouble with "3rd rock star" for writing
a piece and saying he wrote it? Didn't he get really angry and expose her and she had to apologize to the readers and him?

8. I have been bitching about her .....
because I remember full well what she did to Gore in 2000. Actually, what she said about Gore was the lie, he never said any of what she claimed he did. She will never decide my vote. Huffington is in the same league as Dowd, they think they are so powerful they can bring the big players to their knees. Huffington and Dowd have egos so big, the egos get in the way of responsible journalism.

16. I don't trust her at all - it will take me years Do you remember
JUST COME FORWARD, JUST ADMIT IT, JUST APOLOGIZE? When the entire TV army batallion called out against Clinton as a team?

I can picture her perfectly - I think she might have been behind the campaign that went on for enless months - a mantra chanted by all the Republicans - because - she was on every talk show imaginable and she said it repeatedly, clearly, loudly, and with all the gusto and tenacity of absolute ridicule and taunting.

It started with one and went for week after week - then to the next stage.

Well, I say to her - just come forward and tell us who you are, Araianna. Admit it. And tell us if you need to apologize.

I don't connect with her at all. She was also one of those family and WH values preachers. I remember it all with disgust. Spawn of Bill Bennett and Robertson.

I'm glad to you posted what she said about Gore. I'll remember that, too.

Sorry to refer to mantra and chant - I wish I could preserve mantra and chant for the higher order, but that was what it was - a mantra and chant - a tool for the character assassination of President Clinton.

RW shill for quite a while.

I see that she is now showing her TRUE COLORS again.

Arianna Huffington is and always has been a fascist tool. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on ME. You're never gonna fool me again, bitch.

She doesn't like Bush or the current GOP, but she is NO friend of anyone associated with the Clintons. How can she be after all the things she said about them? I'll take Al Gore (my 1st choice) anyday over some blogger's opinion.

Or most of us were, anyway. I don't always agree with Arianna, but I do believe we are all entitled to change our minds from time to time.

23. My mother saw Bill Clinton for the philanderer that he is
I don't need Arianna's view.

In 2000, I made my final decision on Bradley vs Gore on the last debate they had. Gore looked prepared and did the best in that debate. Bradley looked tired and I knew that he would not have the strength to withstand the Reichwing attacks in the general election, so I supported for Gore.
