Romney Defends Lack of Hunting License
White House Hopeful Mitt Romney Responds to Questions,
Saying He Seldom Needed Hunting License

By GLEN JOHNSON

BOSTON Apr 6, 2007 (AP)— Officials in the four states where Mitt Romney
has lived say the Republican presidential contender, who calls himself a
lifelong hunter, never took out a license. Romney says that's because he
has seldom hunted where he needed one.

Questions about his hunting activities trailed Romney this week after he
remarked at a campaign stop that he has been a hunter nearly all his life.
The next day, his campaign said Romney had been hunting only twice, once
as a teenager in Idaho and again last year with GOP donors in Georgia.

That was wrong, Romney said the day after that, adding that he had hunted
rabbits and other small animals for many years, mainly in Utah. Hunting
certain small game there doesn't require a license.

"The report that I only hunted twice is incorrect," Romney said in a statement
issued Friday. "I've hunted small game numerous times, as a young man and
as an adult. I'm by no means a big game hunter. I'm more Jed Clampett than
Teddy Roosevelt."

8. Mebbe he should've just said something along the lines of.....
'my belief is that it's my GOD-GIVEN right to hunt (and hunt responsibly)....and I didn't believe that I needed a stinkin' "license". My "license" comes from G_d himself. That's ALSO WHY a FARMER shouldn't have to buy self-terminating seeds from MONSANTO! G-d put EVERYTHING there for us to use. Nature is self-perpetuating...and as long as we agree to 'not mess' with that perfectly balanced cycle....all will be 'good'. But these self-terminating/non-germinating seeds are JUST a DISASTER (MANY DISASTERS) waiting - soon - to happen. Who in their right mind would support this shit? Even the 'profiteers' will be done in by this one day! (and then it will be called 'irony' after the tragedy)

Btw, I don't have any feelings one way or the other about Romney. I just don't think his views on this are way very different than a lot of 'progressives' on this board are, when you look at the 'root' of it all.

11. I think Cheney and Romney should go hunting together.
For dove. In Texas.

They can take odds in Vegas on which one homicided the other first. :-)
