Other crimes evidenced in the mis-directed georgewbush.org e-mails?? = HATCH ACT violations
I just found the web site with the "catch-all" for georgewbush.com e-mails.
They even have a full-headers version:
http://2004.georgewbush.org/deadletteroffice/headers.asp

Here is a selection indicating use of the U. S. government e-mail system to conduct political action
in the Bush-Kerry race. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this a violation of the Hatch Act.
(NOTE: spaces added and mail-to code deleted to defeat links.)

This from just my first look at the page of e-mails, from scrolling down just a bit!! This struck me as very wrong, as illegal given use of the senate.gov server.

2. WAY illegal
And if they were doing that with Susan Collins' staff, this kind of thing had to involve a lot more Senate and House offices than just hers.

7. More Hatch Act violations noted in one post back then.
This from back in 2004, does not seem an explicit violation.

198. Violations of the Hatch Act????
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x1165947#1171755

Here is my question. Why is

Todd Ungerecht
Senior Policy Advisor
Northwest Region
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
U.S. Department of Commerce
(206) 526-6152

reporting to operatives in the Bush campaign about a conference he had with the media? Why is he giving operatives of the Bush campaign a list of the media and what questions they asked? Is this electioneering? A possible violation of the Hatch Act?

Interesting FOIA filing, no?

Greetings,
I look forward to speaking with each of you within the next 24 hours to review our mission and your specific assignment for the convention. Your role in enabling effective coverage of our convention on the major networks is a critical one and we've got a great team. We've got a lot of work to do in the coming weeks, but hopefully will have some fun too.
