Gingrich Warns of GOP Losses in 2008
Jun 8 02:10 PM US/Eastern
By BEN EVANS
Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON (AP) - Republican Newt Gingrich, in a jab at President Bush, warned on Friday that the GOP will lose the White House and Congress in 2008 if the nominee is perceived as a continuation of the Bush presidency.

Addressing a conservative organization, the former House Speaker never mentioned the president by name, but his political point was clear.

"If the Republicans run a stand-pat presidential candidate who ends up being on defense for all of September and October and who is seen by the country as representing four more years, the fact is that Republicans are not going to" win, Gingrich told the American Enterprise Institute.

Gingrich, a former Georgia congressman, is considering a White House run, with an announcement likely in the fall.

He has roundly criticized the Bush administration in recent interviews, describing the White House as dysfunctional and saying the president has driven the party into collapse. While he refrained from direct criticism Friday, he cited failures in Iraq, border security and the response to Hurricane Katrina as signs of a broken government.

9. The media will take care of that
The media is doing an excellent job of portraying Giuliani as a "moderate" who is far from being the inept politician that is George W. Bush.

Giuliani has in fact supported the Iraq war since the beginning and has not criticized it.

10. PLEASE run. What can I do to help?
Let's have the Republican candidates look like the night of the living dead. Can't we get Bob Barr to come out? The truth of the matter is that they don't have a candidate because they don't have a platform that isn't ugly. The raging, spitting hatred and elitism is so obvious that none has a whiff of acceptability to anyone but barking extremists.

Please run! Stand for your privileged hatred of others. Scorn all who don't totally agree with your disdain of the rest of the human race. Laud individual freedom while cowardly avoiding any responsibility for your fellow man. Come on, make the voice of selfishness and deception even more of a virtue than Reagan did. It's time! Mount the parapets! Come on, Newt, don't be a candy-assed sniper, stand up and show your stuff.

11. Newt has felt he is the rightful repub flag carrier
After he had to admit his errors in the use of campaign money he lost the admiration of his party. Oh his arrogance. Let the jerk run, he apparently feels this is His Time. He is prepared to show how he is the True conservative and the others are beneath him. Newt will get hammered.

The real Newt will once again show his ugly head, how he treats wives, girlfriends, Ugh, and to repeat, his arrogance, his brilliant mind BS. Kinda like the Rove M.O. No Newt, the red neck middle America won't be happy with another my way or the highway leader.
