This race is still based soley on
Name Recognition:

http://www.galluppoll.com/content/?ci=27673

PRINCETON, NJ -- Despite the remarkably early start on this year's presidential campaign and the high-visibility presence of the major candidates on television news shows and in televised debates, the name identification of the leading candidates or potential candidates has not changed much so far this year.

Hillary Clinton has near universal name identification, the highest of any of the major candidates. Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani is known by more than 8 in 10 Americans, more than is the case for John McCain and John Edwards, whose familiarity ratings are around 80%. Barack Obama's familiarity is at 75%. There has been little change in any of these candidates' recognition factors over the last several months. The least-known of the group of seven political figures included in this analysis are former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson, who despite his acting role on prime time television, is known by less than 4 out of 10 Americans, and Mitt Romney, whose name ID remains below 50%.

At this point in the game it is still all name recognition and as long as the MSM keep forcing HRC on the American populace, the other candidates have little chance of gaining momentum...

1. That's why Obama will eventually overtake HRC in the polls
His not nearly as known as HRC, and most people who even know who he is doesn't know anything about him. But once the primaries draw nearer, I think you'll see HRC's lead in the polls vanish.

2. So why isn't Edwards ahead of Obama?

This race may have began on name recognition, but that theory doesn't account for why Clinton has not only maintained her lead, but actually increases her lead after candidates appear together at events like forums.

4. Perhaps b/c
every other Presidential race headline begins with either Clinton or Obama????

When was the last time you can remember MSM coverage of substance on anyone but HRC or Obama?

Richardson, Biden, Dodd, Kucinich all recieve virtually NO PLAY on the MSM...why is that?

7. ok, as soon as you show me another link from Gallup that says that...
...I'll believe there is a media conspiracy against Edwards. But if every other Presidential race headline begins with either Clinton or Obama, shouldn't there name recognition be a bit closer?

5. Edwards was the VP candidate in 04; most voters know who he is
Why isn't he ahead of Obama then?
