Wes Clark Leaving faux "news"?
From CCN:
http://securingamerica.com/ccn/node/12355

I know that politico is mentioned here, and I don't trust them, but I'll take this as good news, if it's true.

1. I'll take it as good news (if it's true) if it means Clark will run again
I too don't trust the source, and of course they predictably try to spin this gossip against Clark. I kind of feel like we had Wes Clark doing Sentry duty over there at FOX so the rest of us could do something more satisfying with our time. Clark repeatedly and effectively shot down Republican talking points, and the constant efort he put into countering saber rattling against Iran was incredible, especially given the Right wing jerks he often had to duel with to be heard.

I still hold that Clark's voice at FOX helped Democrats win over enough red leaning districts to retake Congress in 2006.

Having said all that, while Clark has been under contract with FOX it has been almost impossible for him to get air time anywhere else, especially on the other cable news channels. I would not miss that part at all.

2. I could never abide his being in with those slime on Faux. He is a truly good man
but too bad that he helped to justify their "fair and balanced " crap by appearing on there.

19. That's true, but the point I'm trying to make is that Fox claims to be
"fair and balanced" and we know they are not, so any appearance by anyone other than the kool aid drinking republicans helps them say "See we had Gen Clark on". Clark is indeed a strong voice for the Democrats and progressives, probably the most consistent but I still can't handle his helping make Fox look like they have some sense of fairness.

4. Very interesting!! But what is Politico's problem?!?
I'm not very familiar with it, but this is at least the second snark against Clark I've seen from them.

5. The responses are hillarious at the politico.com site.....
here's one to the notion that Clark was being replaced by Ford and their taking the pain to note that Clark once stumped for Ford! (Oh Brother!) :eyes:

As you so generously noted.... Clark stumped for Ford... he also stumped for, endorsed and supported more than 86 Democratic candidates in the 06 cycle... including helping organize and launch the Fight Dems efforts and VoteVets. The most requested surrogate for Democrats in red states during the 06 cycle! That's including 25 candidates who flipped their seats from Republican to Democratic seats. A record to celebrate!

8. They added that in, Frenchie, about stumping for Ford
It wasn't there when I first saw it. Definitely not.

10. Politico has been targeted
by Glenn Greenwald since they first came on the scene. He's got their number. Not sure if you can do a search at Greenwald's, but I'll try to dig up some of his posts about them. Very enlightening. They are sort of the FAUX NEWS of the online print world.

Okay, here's a good one, and Glenn probably links his other pieces in this article, if you're interested in reading more:

Mike Allen, consummate Beltway "journalist"

As far as Clark leaving FOX, I'd say that's probably the last we'll see of him on Corporate Cable so-called News shows... Who among them wants actual TRUTH broadcast across their sets?

13. Good
I know that Clark gives them what for, but I still don't like for a good man to be seen with FAUX scum. Harold Ford, eh? Well if true, birds of a feather stick together, and Ford is a good match for the likes of FAUX. I really have no use for Ford.

15. Like I said, the comments are better than the blurb itself!
like this one!

http://www.politico.com/blogs/anneschroeder/0607/To_think_he_used_to_be_known_as_General_Hot.html#comments

"General Clark is very hot, and very knowledgable in many areas. He actually won a war and negotiated a lasting peace....nothing that can be said about each and everyone of our current candidates, Fox News or Politico.com for that matter. What's with the snark? I would have thought that Politico supported the troops!"
