1. Other. . .
Edited on Wed Jun-20-07 05:10 PM by stellanoir
It is mildly entertaining and further endears many of us to the ever intrepid efforts of Code Pink which continually reinforce the fundamental sense and stark truth within most of us that war is "a racket" and is just plain wrong.

Screw protocol and appearances. Nothing those gentle ladies can do will ever be as extreme or deranged as the grossly illegal actions of this "misadministration."

2. Eh
I LOVE Code Pink. I don't agree with every thing they do, and I can't believe some of the egos you have to deal with in their org, but it's part of the package. They are antiwar. Hugely vocally so. God bless 'em.

That said, you better be COMPLETELY COMMITTED TO END THE WAR, no exceptions, no weasel words

or Code Pink will boo you

3. I think that Code Pink's booing
plays into the hands of the Repubs. I think their booing is more likely to prolong the war than end it early. That's because their actions help to marginalize those of us who want to end this war as fast as humanly possible.

4. Code Pink have developed an unsavory image
As much as I share their goal, I must say that their image is extremely wacky (especially if you see how the media report it).

5. It shows that Code Pink has no respect for the democratic party.
It gives the country the wrong impression of the democrats. There are a lot of things each candidate does that every member of the party does not like. But if the democrats could only stay unified the republicans would never ever sweep an election again.

7. Probably means that candidate isn't a strong enough
advocate for peace to earn my vote.

8. It only matters if someones watching.
& right now, most people aren't. I saw a poll on cnn a couple weeks ago asking if people had watched any of the debates so far. At the time I saw it... a whopping 75% said no. I think most average people dont even know who code pink is. So... does it matter if they boo? I doubt it.

9. I voted "other", and here's why:
As much as some here would like to think they have this thing sewn up, there is not "GE Candidate" yet. I go to bed hoping each night that the actual nominee has yet to enter the race, in fact.

Code Pink's booing of a primary candidate could be factored in or out of a decision to back that candidate, and since we still have some modicum of free speech, they have every right to boo whomever they wish. But, there is no GE candidate right now. That having been said, IF Hillary ends up our nominee, and people have to make some hard decisions about whether or how to support her, this booing could be a factor either way.
