==Very Much An Edwards Night

A plurality of our group (four of 12) thought Sen. Edwards won the debate. And we heard a word used to describe him afterwards that any campaign would want to be associated with their candidate: “genuine”. When asked, most of this group thought he was, indeed, “genuine.” These two clips, related to nuclear power and the separation of church and state, show how much Edwards was on-message in this debate:==

The focus group was conducted by Rich Thau.

1. To be more accurate, one-third of the group said he won.

His performance was pretty solid, but only four of the twelve (as you noted) indicated that they thought he "won".

4. That means 33% thought one candidate won. That was the highest number for any of the 8 candidates

3. I also thought Edwards won
None of the leading candidates had major miscues and they all did pretty good, but Edwards was the best one in his answers and his general performance.

5. Edwards did well...
His gay marriage answer was pretty strained, but he definitely had more energy than in past debates...

I still think Hillary was the most consistently good, but Edwards had a very good night...

Also glad to see Richardson get off the mat, not polished but good answers...
