Bush To Veto Ban On Mercury In Vaccines
http://infowars.net/articles/july2007/200707Mercury.htm

Clear links to neurological disorders ignored, removed from animal vaccines but fine for babies

Steve Watson

Friday, July 20, 2007

President Bush is to veto a bill that would ban mercury in flu vaccines for children despite its known links to autism and other neurological disorders and despite the fact that he pledged in 2004 to support such a move when campaigning for re-election.

The White House stated on Tuesday that President
Bush would veto the FY 2008 HHS-Labor-Education Appropriations Bill because of the cost and "objectionable provisions" such as a measure to ban the use of childhood flu vaccines that contain thimerosal, a mercury-based preservative, a press release from Autism advocacy group Safe Minds on the PRNewswire-USNewswire states.

1. Quit fucking with Bush, Congress. You will do NO GOOD WITH HIM IN OFFICE.
Got it yet?

Get the SOB out of office FIRST, then maybe you can pass meaningful legislation. As long as Bush/Cheney are in power, NOTHING GOOD WILL HAPPEN. YOU ARE WASTING YOUR TIME, OUR MONEY, AND ALLOWING OUR RIGHTS AND LIBERTIES TO BE TAKEN AWAY FROM US.

DO YOUR JOB, CONGRESS!

3. "despite its known links to autism and other neurological disorders"
What a load of horsepuckey. No link has EVER been found. Period.

Perhaps the author of this article should have consulted Quackwatch first.

However, a mercury free vaccine is available. Parents who wish their infants and toddlers to have a flu vaccine should inquire about it.

Although NO LINK between mercury based preservatives and ANY illness has ever been found, it's probably not a great idea to give a kid a mercury containing vaccine, especially in view of the increasing environmental contamination with mercury.

This was a "parents are too dumb to ask" bill. Yes, some parents are too dumb to ask. However, given the lack of evidence that their children will be harmed by a yearly flu vaccine with a trace amount of thimerosol, perhaps the veto isn't quite as bad as the author of this article would have you believe.

4. Conspiracy-guy alert: Watson is a colleague of Alex Jones
Edited on Tue Jul-24-07 03:55 PM by Perry Logan
I say this because Alex Jones has a history of spreading alarming stories about vaccines and ignoring contravening evidence. For example, the statement about mercury in flu vaccines having "known links to autism" seems to be false:

"Study after study has shown no link between thimerosal and autism. The rates of autism continue to grow in cohorts of children who received no thimerosal-containing vaccines."
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/arthur-allen/autism-mercury-and-the-a_b_46488.html

If I understand him correctly, Jones believes vaccines are part of a secret conspiracy to lower our IQs and/or kill us. Evil agents of a worldwide conspiracy are slipping cancer viruses and poisons into the vaccines. The conspiracy has been openly announced, and yet only Alex Jones has spotted it. You get the picture.

I'm not saying there are no legitimate issues about vaccines. But Alex Jones and his colleagues are the least reliable sources this side of Bizarro World.

5. this is hogwash.
first -- thimerosol is not in vaccines EXCEPT for flu vaccines and then you can get it without.

second the u.s. britain and denmark have all done studies that show there is no link between autism and vaccines.

threads like these are tantamount to medical advise -- and dangerous medical advise at that.
