President comments on march in Jena

President George W. Bush weighed in during a White House news conference this morning on today's marches in support of the "Jena Six."

"The events in Louisiana has saddened me. The FBI and Justice Department have been monitoring the situation. All of us want fairness when it comes to justice," Bush said in response to a question about the Jena Six.

Bush later said, "This is an ongoing trial, and litigation is taking place. I feel strongly that their ought to be fair justice," to a question on why he hasn't spoken out sooner on the matter.

People on the ground in Jena say they feel like they are in the yard of Attica because of the strong showing of law enforcement on top of buildings, and in the air.
