Our Senators have just slapped us in the face!
27 Dems voted with the Repugs to condemn MoveOn. The Democratic senators' acceptance of the General's lies will result in thousands more of our troops, and hundreds of thousands more Iraqis, DYING. We saw little outrage from Dems, and NONE from Republicans, when fascist thugs Swiftboated John Kerry, Max Clealand, Jack Murtha, and Richard Clark. As a lifelong Democratic activist, I'm finished with these turn-coats. My own Senator Feinstein voted "yes". She can count on me to oppose her re-election regardless of the consequences.

2. Well, some of them anyway
One of mine didn't.

Some of my favorites didn't.

And a couple thought it was stupid and abstained. That was fine too.

5. Yes, they did slap you all in the face.
You were interfering with the "dialogue" that the Senate wanted to have.

Such as it is.

6. Not Hillary Clinton. She voted against the resolution.
Obama and Biden abstained.

http://rawstory.com//news/2007/Democrats_vote_to_condemn_MoveOn_0920.html

The Senate voted by a wide margin Thursday to condemn a controversial anti-war advertisement accusing Gen. David Petraeus of betraying the country. Only 24 Democrats, including presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, voted against the symbolic resolution.

Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) and Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE), both of whom also are seeking their party's presidential nomination, joined Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-WA) in declining to take a position for or against the MoveOn ad. Since last Monday, when the "General Petraus or General Betray Us?" ad ran on a full page of the New York Times, Republicans have launched relentless attacks on MoveOn and any Democrats who refused to outright condemn the ad's message.

"The focus of the United States Senate should be on ending this war, not on criticizing newspaper advertisements," Obama said. "This amendment was a stunt designed only to score cheap political points while what we should be doing is focusing on the deadly serious challenge we face in Iraq. It's precisely this kind of political game-playing that makes most Americans cynical about Washington's ability to solve America's problems. By not casting a vote, I registered my protest against this empty politics. I registered my views on the ad itself the day it appeared."

16. wonder why they allowed it to come to the floor -
seems like the whole concept was grand-standing. We shouldn't let the Reps. control the dialogue on this one - most Americans think this war is dumb and want it to end.

9. Feinstein is just pissing me off so much.
WTF??? She represents California. It's not like she's up for a tough re-election battle in Utah or something. Why is she such a turncoat?

It seems she's been around forever (I guess it seems that way to me because I was a child in the Bay Area when Moscone was shot and so I have known about her for 30 years). Isn't it time for her to retire, though?

12. just got off the phone with Feinstein's office

told her folks that I will work to defeat her in her next campaign.

I've also known her for 30 years. Was riding on Muni on the day of the assasination - they day she became Mayor of SF. I've supported her through many campaigns and issues. But...

enough is enough

I concluded those probably were NOT people happy with her vote calling to congratulate her. :)
