Giuliani to Pick Woman for Running Mate
Lets say Rudy is the nominee (and I only use him as an example as he seems to be the one true threat to any of our Dems) and that Hillary is our nominee.

What do you think the chances are Rudy would pick a woman to be his running mate? This would bring back the supposed GOP women votes the Clinton campaign says they will be getting, and if would almost be a 2-for-1 deal for a lot of independents. The allure of voting for the first woman to the White House would be safer for a lot of people who are skeptical of Clinton. I hate to say it, but a ticket of Rudy and Libby Dole, or Rudy and Christine Todd Whitman, or something like that, could be pretty tough to beat.

What do you all think?

(Sorry if this scenario has been mentioned before!)

3. Interesting -- that sounds like a real possibility.
Although I don't know whether the rank and file GOP voters would want any woman a heartbeat from the presidency.

I'll be interested in what other people say about it.

18. Depends on who he picks.
Calling the choice of someone with the resume of, say, Condoleeza Rice "a gimmick" wouldn't last long, and would rightfully be shot down as sexism/racism.

28. I wouldn't agree with picking Condi, no. That woman is too tainted.
What I mean is that a woman with a long career of leadership in industry, academia, and government could not be dismissed as a "gimmick" for very long.

She's perfect. She's got the IQ of Cool Whip and doesn't want to be a Senator anymore.

Liddy Dole? When your face lifts make you look like you're standing in a wind tunnel, you are automatically disqualified from being a VP.

30. He was a Democrat in the 1970s...
The New York Liberal Party, a sort of old-time patronage clan, ran him on its line in 1989 and 1993. He never wanted to call himself a Republican during his mayoral campaigns.

Whatever the label, there's no doubt what he stands for, eh?

The duo who together made sure New York could be poisoned in ignorant (relative) bliss.

Since they're now pointing fingers at each other as the actual liar in the WTC dust cover-up, this is unlikely. But they are a perfect match, yes.

35. BUT, if Ghouliani picked a woman running mate and
Hillary wasn't the Democratic nominee, would the Repubs end up getting the woman's vote? And in that case, Rudi would also stand a real chance of carrying New York, and very few Democrats have been elected President without carrying New York.

38. Christy Todd Whitman doesn't have a ghost (no offence) of a chance
to win after her failure to protect the 9/11 workers who are dying left and right. Sure hope he picks her! Routing the GOP would be easy.

The only female Republican that could be a threat...IMHO is Kay Bailey Hutchinson as that would be a pretty strong ticket. And didn't she say she wasn't running again? Lot's of women may be satisfied or settle for having the first female VP. That's combination is a little scary and the Rethugs would brag about putting the first women in the VP position...if he wins.

 I'm thinking not. Too many people just don't like him, including the Christian coalition. I don't think there is a rethug candidate good enough. People want change, not more of the same. And his warmongering won't be widely acceptable to many.
