OK, I admit it. Despite not being a big fan, I love Kucinich's healthcare plan.

It makes sense. And it's the best solution.

Unfortunately with Dennis having no chance in hell, the single payer healthcare system may never be a reality.

I love Senator Edwards plan, though it's not as smart and bold as Kucinich's.

I really wish we would stop the debate over whose plan covers everyone, whose plan is most aggressive, and actually do something about it.

Sicko was a real eye opener. I really wish ALL of our candidates were behind single payer healthcare.

Until that point, I'm for John Edwards and solely support his universal healthcare plan that will mandate coverage for all Americans and end pre-existing conditions and will treat mental health the same as other illnesses.

1. Who doesn't? It's just that it's impossible to get it through Congress..
It would be easier to euthanize every Republican on the planet..then we may have a chance!

4. I agree, Tellurian. I think Edwards and Hillary have the best healthcare plans that are achieveable.
I wish single payer could be a reality though.

I really do.

27. Any plan that keeps "for profit" in place
Is not a system I want.

That's the problem in the first place.

Edwards and Clinton merely prop up the existing system. It's not a real solution. But certainly the lobbyists will pay them well.

13. I'm not opposed to euthanizing Republicans
But wouldn't it be better just to elect Democrats and make this the law of the land?

3. I couldn't agree more.
I had decided to vote for Kucinich, mostly on account of his position on single payer universal healthcare, until he let it be known that he would consider making Ron Paul his VP. I want a president who would secure the henhouse, not one who would invite the foxes in.

Do you have a single reply to ANYTHING that doesn't contain a repetition of something Dennis never said in the first place?

I wish Democrats would support their ideas and the candidates that endorse those same ideas.

7. I wouldn't go that far, but he's definitely been the most truthful candidate running.
Edited on Tue Dec-11-07 02:22 PM by Kerry2008
And he sure as hell isn't afraid to stand up for what he believes is right, and against what he believes is wrong.

I've often said if more Democrats had the voice and fire of Dennis, we'd win every election.

I just don't think he has most of a chance, and honestly I look at his time as mayor and find it somewhat troubling. As well as him considering Ron Paul. Just my opinion though....

8. No, Dennis is an Idealist..
with an Idealist's approach to life.

has it ever occurred to you to look at the bills DK has gotten passed in the last 10 yrs?

examples:

* Gee, gasoline should be $0.15 a gal.

* We shouldn't have to pay Taxes..

* We need a 3 day work week with full 40 hrs pay..

9. Is there a definition for Democrat out there?
I wholeheartedly support his candidacy and hope the nominee co-opts some of his policies. I support single-payer as much as anyone but don't feel that we have enough support nationally for it. We need to build up that support first.

11. I love more than DK's HealthCare Plan:
Dennis speaks for ME!

*Single Payer Universal HealthCare is not only possible, but cheaper.

*"For Profit" HealthCare is obscene

*Mandatory Health Insurance is NOT REALLY Universal HealthCare

*the Democratic Party and American taxpayers should NOT be forced to subsidize some of the richest CEOs in history by subsidizing the HealthCare Insurance Corps and HMOs.

*the USA SHOULD give the Imperial Palace (Green Zone) back to the Iraqis, close the permanent bases, expel all Corporate Consultants, withdraw ALL US Troops, and begin paying reparations NOW.

*redeploying some troops at some future date is a PRO-WAR position.

*the "Oil Law Benchmark" supported by the Democratic Party is a War Crime

*we can have election accountability with "Paper Ballots publicly hand counted at the precinct".

*we CAN cut $Billions$ from the Defense Budget

*the RICHEST Corporations in history do NOT need $Billions$ in welfare subsidies

*NAFTA (Free Trade) has not been a good thing for Americans who have to work for a living

*Bush & Cheney should be impeached, and investigations and prosecutions should continue after 2008.

The Democratic Party is a BIG TENT, but there is NO ROOM for those
who advance the agenda of THE RICH (Corporate Owners) at the EXPENSE of LABOR and the POOR.

I will consider Edwards as a compromise candidate, but no one closer to the Republicans will get my vote.

12. Yeah, what you said! Too bad most people look to the MSM...
for their choice. I also see allot of people who like his ideas and agree with him but for some reason pull back and say but? The media is what pulls people back, the media portrays him as a nobody candidate and ignores him as Americans blindly follow suit.

16. I actually think the Edwards plan is very good.
Think about it
1. He is electable
2. He will be able to get it thru congress
3. The plan will bring down the cost of health care
4. (This is the part that i really love) since the big companies(for profit) will not be able to
complete with government(not for profit.) In the end it leads to a single payer system by using their precious "free market."

19. How is he "electable"
First off, elecatbility is false construct.

Secondly, he lost the 2004 election and his sentate seat to boot.

25. This is complete nonsense
First Edwards has not given any details regarding the public part of his plan.

So to make the statement that Edwards plan leads to single payer, when Edwards gives no details how this would be so is complete and utter crap.

I am pissed off that so many have bought this load of trash. Edwards and his supporters are dishonestly derailing the single payer health care debate in this election.

26. Even if you can't vote for DK in the primary...
Wouldn't it be a wonderful thing to encourage our future (D) President to add DK to his/her cabinet?

Cheers to you for a positive post about DK's health care plan. I wish more DUers would take the time to read it and compare it to the plans put forth by our other candidates.

:hi:
