Who Wins Utah--Huckabee or Obama
Should the general election be between Huckabee and Obama, who would win Utah after Huckabee's statements on Mormonism? I think we might be able to add another state into the swing column if that happens...

12. Nope, but LBJ won (barely) - supposedly because the country was at war.

And since I'm here anyway, there is not a chance that a Democrat will get more than 1/3 of the vote in a state wide election; this mirrors, not so ironically, the approximate population distribution of Mormons to gentiles. And a black Democrat wont do nearly that well.

4. Probably 80-90%.
I am guessing, most of the population is mormon.

5. Funny thought
61% of Utahan's are mormons. That said, it would be a "miracle" if a Democrat won.

7. Huckabee with over 70 percent of the vote.
You actually think a Democrat or an African American can even compete in Utah?

13. If the Republicans Nominate Huckabee, Maybe
Edited on Thu Dec-13-07 01:12 AM by proudmoddemo
Huckabee went pretty far with bashing Mormonism. If he's the nominee, I could see (irrationally dream?) Utah voting for a Democrat, especially one that genuinely talks about their faith like Obama.

8. Democrat won't win Utah
unless their running mate is Joseph Smith himself --even then it's a squeaker.
