Idea for New Reality Show: Survivor: Primaries

NBC News just devoted a huge segment of time to hand-wringing about what's going to happen when "The Writer's Strike hits us where it hurts... our living rooms." They're going to have to start running reality shows. American Idol is going to start earlier and run.. yes, longer. Aside from the fact that they're missing the point about the Writer's Strike, here's an idea. Take all that Network Time and run a Reality Show about our Presidential Candidates. I'm sure Chris Matthews could host it. Tweety would love that. They could dress it up however they wanted, as long as they gave us ONE HOUR of content. Surely wouldn't cost them much to produce. And go figure, the American people would actually get to see the candidates "on the stump".. "UNCENSORED".. my god, it's the epitomy of Reality TV. Think it'll sell??

If it goes over, we might even get a Sequel: Presidential Idol, the Amazing Race to the White House

5. It was amazing, too

Joe DiSalle must have listened to Reagan's voice on tape in his sleep,
he was that convincing, and his Dick Cheney snarl is spot on as well, even if
his Cheney head gear is over the top. Robert Yarnall has Giuliani's downturned
mouth at exactly the right angles. Enga Davis IS Tina Turner ("What's Bill Got
To Do With It?" duet with "Hillary"), and Laura Buck could do a stand-in for
Laura Bush if she would get some body padding. The New York Times called it
"at times howlingly funny," and that was no exaggeration. Howard Dean wrote
to call it "Sensational," and they may do an updated version of it on the road
next year if some hotshot studio doesn't steal the cast first.

Buy the air time and roll with it. Somebody will sooner or later.

I don't think that will be any better for democracy though. People can still edit things to reflect anything they want.
