What is this trash about Obama and OJ?
How can this be news?

"An elderly man told Edwards that “something has been sticking in my craw” and explained that “a certain fella committed two murders in California and the jury found him not guilty. And all they said was, ‘It’s payback time.’ How are you going to have that come out in this election to combat one of your competitors?”"

5. Well, OJ did say in his "If I Did It" book....
...that a guy named Charlie was with him when he killed Nicole and Ron. It's a little known fact that Hussein is Arabic for "Charlie." I'm just sayin'...

3. Unbelievable. Is there so little else to report...
...that they've had to try to make a story out of the senile ramblings of some old git who shambled out of the secure ward at the local retirement home? Honestly, if nobody present could figure out what the idiot was talking about, that's a big clue that he was talking shit.

6. exactly, why are they reporting the actions of a racist quote by quote
This could have gone wholly unreported as a million other questions do,
Instead it is reported in stark detail.

Why?

4. Edwards' perfect response . . .
(after he got over his complete and understandable puzzlement about what in the hell this man was talking about)

"Edwards noted that African-Americans have higher rates of poverty and are more likely to not have health insurance than whites. He added, 'Instead of focusing on what happened with O.J., what I want to do is focus on what I see as the underlying causes of those things, poverty in America, lack of health care, lack of opportunity….'"

Nice, Senator. Thank you.

17. Wait a minute...
"'Instead of focusing on what happened with O.J., what I want to do is focus on what I see as the underlying causes of those things, poverty in America, lack of health care, lack of opportunity….'"

I don't think you can say the underlying cause of O.J.'s crimes is poverty, lack of health care or lack of opportunity.
Just sayin'.

18. He was referring to OJ's crimes, but "what happened to OJ"
In the context of the guy's question, his response was perfectly appropriate.

The issue wasn't whether OJ committed a crime, but the sense among some African Americans (and some whites, as well) that OJ's acquittal was "payback" for all of the injustices inflicted upon African Americans over the centuries.

Sen. Edwards' response showed a lot of depth and insight. He obviously understands the sense of disenfranchisement, disconnectedness and frustration that many in the black community feel as a result of a number of conditions, including poverty, lack of health care and lack of opportunity.

10. Obama helped OJ taint the crime scene evidence. You didn't know that?
Thought that was common knowledge. He's a real bad guy.

14. Yes
Clinton planted a crazy old coot in an Edwards audience to try to link Obama to the OJ murders.

God you people are funny.

15. It was a joke
But like all good jokes, it had some degree of plausibility to it. It's a shame the Hillary campaign has imploded to the point where that joke is semi-plausible.

12. It's part of their Edwards push. Some of us have been posting that we
expect the media to start whacking at Obama and pushing Edwards forward. I'm not sure that Obama was an intended swipe in this, because the old guy is clearly clueless. But I do think it was intended to show JE is a good light.

And I agree, it not "news."
