Even though I support Hillary
I think that out of the three "front runners", Edwards is the only candidate that could "unite" this place if he got the nomination.

As a Hillary supporter, the Obama camp has left me with a bad taste in my mouth about him. (not ALL over his supporters .... but many of the vocal ones). As I'm sure this goes the other way.

The Edwards camp here with ONE HUGE EXCEPTION has done a good job of supporting him with out being obnoxious.

My #2 choice is actually Biden.

But I'm starting to think that Edwards is on the way up.

While Obama and Clinton have been beating the shit out of each other, Edwards is moving forward.

Flame away.

28. I've Also Posted On Threads DEFENDING Hillary... My Point Was That
I thought he would be supporting Obama. I guess I should have worded it differently. And, I also noted that I wasn't implying anything about Bill Clinton either as I see there was someone who posted something about womanizing! Sorry if YOU got the wrong impression!

Then someone else said that Magic had already endorsed Clinton, which I DIDN'T know.

I'm NOT a Clinton supporter myself, but have said MANY times that I was one before. I changed my mind. And I've also not said anything against Obama because I do like him, just not this time out.

2. Sometimes you think it's one camp, and..
lo and behold it's an Edwards supporter doing the bashing. Just saying. I've been guilty of thinking certain people were bashing in order to support Hillary, only to find out it was the supporter of another campaign. And I'm not talking about Saracat either.

8. Not completely though, but that's not the point...
..."this place" is a only a small piece in the puzzle that will determin who gets elected President in 2008, and this place is not very representative of the general public - or even of Democrats.

16. I'm a Kucinich supporter, but I tend to agree with you....
I haven't spoken about this much because I prefer to avoid incivility and things have been pretty tense lately in GDP whenever candidate supporters are criticized. My PERSONAL impression is that a half-dozen or so rabid Clinton supporters are among the most obnoxious posters in this community-- that comment is NOT directed at Clinton supporters in general, only a relative few individuals, so folks should closely examine whether the shoe fits before going into outrage mode. The only folks to have made my IGNORE list this primary season-- so far-- are among that cadre.

I have fewer interactions with partisan Obama supporters, so they would tend to seem less obnoxious to me anyway, so that might be a perception biased by my lack of interaction with them. Maybe the real vitriol flies between the Clinton and Obama camps and spares the rest of us? Otherwise, I've only had moderately uncivil interactions with one other candidate partisan, a Biden supporter with an apparently short fuse. Edwards supporters here seem eager to inform and interact-- again, other folks' mileage might vary, but that's been my impression.

I have not been a strong Edwards supporter, and would have a difficult time voting for him in the general election. I love his populism and some of his domestic policy positions, but I doubt that he would make needed reforms in foreign policy, and his association with selling the war against Iraq will always trouble me. Still, of the three "front running" dem candidates, he's the least objectionable for me.

The kind of hatred that some spew here is too intense. They'll never apologize nor support Hillary.

I for one, see no need to apologize to anyone because I don't despise Obama. I just think that the guy is not qualified to be president in 2008, but I don't hate him. I might have even voted for him if he had actually worked in the senate, proven himself and had some real experience under his belt.

I know there are nasty sonsofbitches in every group, even yours, even mine, even the oh so positive Edwards supporters. The only supporter group not well-represented in my Ignore list is Biden supporters. If you see only nasty Obama supporters, or only nasty Clinton supporters, you have your eyes closed (you as in "one").

33. I'll probably get flamed for this but I think
that the Hillary and Obama camps have done a fine job too of promoting their candidates, WITH A COUPLE EXCEPTIONS. There seem to be one or two assholish supporters in every candidate's camp here on DU, and unfortunately they are very vocal and seem to drown out the rest of the respectful, and polite posters. Most Obama supporters are a delight, as are most Clinton supporters. I only see one or two idiots going at it on a regular basis. Same for Edwards. I wish Everyone no matter who's camp you're in could see that any candidate we have to offer is far and away better than anything on the other side of the aisle. They really are. Good luck to ALL our candidates in Iowa and NH!

In the end, we're all Dems, or we wouldn't be here. I'm looking forward to the day when we're all on the same side again, fighting for a cause. (Hopefully, a great Progressive Cause.)

Your posts are always sharp and quick witted, you'll make a good decision, whoever you decide to support.

35. Edwards cut out most of the mudslinging
He's not as bad now as he was before.

There were few is any Hillary supporters for months here and she was ripped to pieces with unfair attacks. People said terrible things to DUers who defended her. Then I started getting nasty too. I don't see as much nastiness now. Either everybody got sick of it or they all have each other on ignore.

I hope any Democratic nominee can unite this place. We need to.

38. No. Its documented here
http://www.attacktimeline.com/

Edwards went the lowest of any Democrat against a member of his own party I can remember. Edwards accused Hillary of screening all her audience members and questions. He said she defended a culture of corruption. He said she's a tool of the corporations. Edwards spent more time Hillary bashing than establishing a case for his own nomination.

Edwards didn't actually reform. He figured out that all his attacks on Hillary were hurting Hillary but that was helping Obama, not Edwards. So Edwards put out the word that he changed. He still fires arrows, but he's very careful to pretend he isn't doing it when he is.
