If Edwards becomes President he will work with |
|
the business/corporate community. It's that simple. Doesn't mean he won't fight them too, but it's absurd to think that he won't deal with them. I actually do believe he'll be much tougher than Clinton, but there is no way to allow private insurers and not deal with them. And that's just health care.

2. indeed, but he says he won't allow them at the table |
|
but will have Congressional reps representing the insurance companies. That's not viable. If he becomes president, they'll be at the table.

3. This is why I don't buy his rhetoric. I have no doubt he will do everything he can, but |
|
it's not like he's so much different from the other candidates. Right now he's in pander-mode and it seems to be working.

5. nope. One of Edwards main themes is cutting insurance companies |
|
out of the conversation about health care reform. He won't be able to do that as insurance companies will remain players under his own plan. And much as his anti-corporate rhetoric is appealing, it's simply reality that he'll have to work with corporate America- as well as fight corporate America. Like many paradoxes, two things can be true simultaneously.

A candidate will have to work with an industry to make it work better for the people.
What a revelation.

9. Great point you raised, cali.. |
|
How can the insurance cos and drug companies be negotiated with without talking to them?
Kind of a disingenuous statement...imo.

Its disingenuous of him to claim they wont get a seat at the table. I love his rhetoric... but much of it is unrealistic.
